Next mock would like to see if Packers could trade back from 25 to 33 to 35 with 41 and 58 and get a lower 3rd round for moving from 25 then could get Cooper and Jenkin and two other players at 58 pick and the trade pick say 75. With 88 and 91 which sound like the strength of the draft. Could also use later round chosen to move to get the guys you want in the top 91

Linebacker could also be a draft-day priority following De’Vondre Campbell’s departure, and Edgerrin Cooper is a name to watch in the 2nd round. Edgerrin Cooper made an impressive 17 tackles for a loss and 8 sacks last season and would give the Packers another playmaker in the middle of the field alongside Quay Walker. Go Pack Go 💚💚💛💛

If we can double dip 2nd and 3rd or 4th to grab 2x I would love it. He also stood out at the senior bowl which means he could be a prime mid-round target for the pack as history would suggest. Super athletic with questionable anticipation, over pursuit, and being in the wrong spot from time to time...sounds a lot like the flaws Quay still has in his game. I'd prefer to have our 2nd LB be a guy who compliments Quay with an instinctive, technician, rather than another upside athletic LB that will take some time to get up to speed on where to be and when to be there.

Edgerrin Cooper is definitely LB #1, no argument here. However, I doubt whether it is worth investing so much draft capital on middle linebackers. After all, they already have a 1st round pick in Quay Walker as MLB. Typically Packers invest their high draft picks on premium positions which demand the most the most money on the market. In the Gute era it was usually someone from the secondary, a pass rusher or a WR. It is likely that this trend will repeat itself and with the first 3 picks, Packers will choose a guy from the secondary, a pass rusher or a tackle (which has become a much bigger need in recent years). There is nothing wrong with Cooper but you can get someone who approximates his value for relatively low dollar. The Packers do need to address the LB spot but my guess it would be in the later rounds, likely two picks in rounds 5-7 (one of which can be a special teamer). On the other hand, instead of drafting Cooper, you can get a safety like Nubin (who is falling off due to doing his pro day kinda injured after the surgery), you can get a left tackle like Suamataia/Morgan/Amegadjie, or you can trade down which is a very Packers-like thing to do. At this point secondary and o-line are the main concerns and should be addressed first.

I don't hate Cooper, but I don't love him either. Sure, when he makes plays, he MAKES PLAYS, but he also seems to make complete boneheaded plays at times. I think his bad traits might be more common in the NFL and the good ones less common, as the competition will be that much better than in college ball. But he could just as well take that next step and just ball out, who knows.

Every ILB has severe reservations, Cooper is a bit of a 1 year wonder and lean at 230 lbs, Colson is a bit of a downhill player not as versitile, Trotter jr poor frame and athleticism, but Payton from NC State is the guy despite injury history. He is Micah Parsons with an injury history. We are missing a guy who can play the outside or inside and Payton looks better off the edge and even better in coverage than Cooper and bigger. We haven't had a player like him since Clay Mathews. I'd strongly consider him.

Edgerrin Cooper is overrated, imo. He doesn't get enough tackles for an ILB for one thing... only 39 solo tackles in 2023. He's missing in action on too many plays. Maybe, he's worth a 3rd RD pick. Isaiah McDuffie is better than Edgerrin Cooper. I'd rather draft Jeremiah Trotter or Cedric Gray over Edgerrin Cooper, and not in the 1st RD. Anyone can look better than he really is when watching just highlight videos. My standard is a bit higher than just watching E. Cooper get a hand on J. Daniels and then calling it a good play. On that play, I see E. Cooper taking a bad angle to get to J. Daniels.

I totally and completely disagree and think Cooper is the biggest loser in the entire top 100 players. He is an edge playing off ball and has the worst instincts of all the players in the entire draft . he does not win when he takes on blocks and tried to move around players . This guy is just one of many bad MLB prospects in this class. There is 1 MLB worth drafting in the entire class and one maybe in Wilson . Cedric Grey is the best MLB in the entire class despite him being shorter than Quay by 2 inches he is still the only one who has MLB juice . The rest all seem bad. Cooper being my least favorite player in the entire group. If he was placed anywhere near the true value he holds say 3rd or 4th round i would not feel so strongly about it but putting him in the 2nd round conversation makes me want to vomit nails. I would take Cedric Grey way before I took Ed Cooper because unlike Cooper mr Grey can play MLB and take on blocks without failing. Cooper is a bust waiting to happen . I get suprized all the time from prospects . Hell Jordan Love proved anyone can become better than they showed in school. However Cooper to me looks like the worst mistake of anyone's draft board. The Packers shot at fixing MLB should not come from the 2024 draft class unless it is Cedric Grey or Wilson . those are the only MLB in this class worth drafting.

I'll be frank here. The linebacker class in this draft looks thin as it is and every year you can find seemingly hundreds of 6'3" 230 pound linebackers with 4.5 fourties with exactly the same film you just showed. IMO, I wouldn't burn a 2nd round pick on a linebacker this year unless the scouts have some film showing better plays than what you just showed. Like game-changing plays that special players make. What I saw here is what I can find in the 5th, 6th,7th rounds along with UDFA's and veteran free agents in their early 30's who are due a big pay cut and will take an incentive-laden contract. Bottom line is that I think linebacker should be a position that the GM should lean on the scouts to find "gems in the rough" based on film, fellow coach recommendations from other teams, etc. The Packers scouts are among the best in the league at finding special players late in the draft and on the free agent market. Look at Ballentine, a 29 year old veteran journeyman, who played spectacularly last year for the Packers at safety/corner. I would recommend the Packers go 25th-Left Tackle or Corner / 41st-Safety or OT / 58th-Running Back or OG / 88th-RB (Ray Davis) or OG / 91st-Safety / 125th-OG The Packers only really have two needs going into the draft and that's 1 starter for both the Secondary and Offensive Line. Preferably a Safety or TOP Cover Corner (both IMO) and a starting Left Tackle who will be the blind-side blocker for the rest of Love's career. What would I do? Trade our 25th, 58th and 91st picks to move up in the 1st round and draft Cooper DeJean. Then with the 41st pick draft the best remaining OT to be the starting Left Tackle, then with the 88th pick select Ray Davis to be the future star RB. Then I think the Packers would have yet another stellar draft going into the future. With the 125th pick go with the best player available for either OG or Safety. 5th-7th Rounders should be a mix of LB, blocking-TE/FB, OG and Safety. Then use the free agent market to find the best Un-Drafted Free Agents and Veteran cuts at LB and Safety. If we get Cooper DeJean in a trade-up, then he starts at the other Corner slot and one of our current corners battle it out for the other safety spot in camp, or the coaches will figure out how to use Cooper in different looks and coverages switching from Corner to Free Safety depending on man-coverage or zone packages. In Zone I love Ballentine at Corner (yes, Ballentine, not Vallentine as Ballentine is more physical at going for the football/tackling) and Cooper at FS. Cooper DeJean would give the Packers an absolutely SCARY coverage that would make opposing offensive coordinators and QBs sweat! Playmakers and blanket coverage backs on all the offensive options. The Packers would even be able to spare Xavier McKinney to cover the opposing team's star Tight End to shut him down. The Packers would have the speed to even spy an opposing running-QB. There would be no offense the Packers couldn't match up with.

I say no on Edge. I've said it in your mock drafts and I'll say it now. Egde is Quay 2.0. Together they might trip over each other chasing down running plays. Don't let it be play action the entire middle of the field will be open. He's never had an interception no pass break up. Nothing. If we didn't have Quay I'd say take him. I'll pass. The NFL is a passing league. Give me a cover Lb to compliment Quay and Edge ain't it.
