Jackie was up to LBJ’s level as far as sweet talking and hiding true feeling and agendas.

She so knew how to talk to a man I’d love to know what she truly thought after she hung up with him. It like she was on a acting role her entire life and just showed how to act like a woman and was a master at it. She probably called bobby and told him what she thought I hope so

She thought.. get lost old coot I'm out of here as soon as I can work it out. Really, she tried to stay away from him.

Jackie accepted the offer only under the stipulation it was not the same AF1 that was used in Dallas.

Jackie sounded like the public Marilyn, all kittenish pips and breathy coos. Marilyn played it better, of course.

Kennedys are smart enough to not put their family on LBJ's 707.

Too bad they didn't have Caller I.D. back in the day! Could have saved Jackie a lot of wasted time on the telephone. I mean you have to admit that the lady certainly had some acting chops, to feign interest the entire time LBJ was bending her ear with his inane ramblings.

That sounds like a right friendly conversation. Didn't Jackie say she thought LBJ had her husband killed? If so, I don't know how they could be so cordial.

Why were the Kennedys so against LBJ, he literally lived on all of JFKS policies and would’ve been a top 5 president if it wasn’t for the war.

I believe their history goes back to the mid 50s, Johnson didn't really believe Jack would be a good president and this came to Bobby's attention. The only reason Johnson was accepted as Jack's vice president was that Johnson could help winning the south. And of course when Jack died and Johnson succeeded him, Bobby's and Johnson's relationship didn't age well.

I'm a Republican but LBJ was one of my favourite presidents. Misunderstood but really wanted to help people out of poverty, having come from it himself.
