Tailing peaks can be a problem when we are doing liquid chromatography (LC), and secondary silanol interactions are one of the causes. Here, using the example of basic drugs, we explain what causes them and cover a few steps that we can take to minimize the effect of these secondary silanols on our peak shape when we are troubleshooting.

I see this a Reverse phase column and your structure is only the residual silanol group on it only. Thank you for this. Very informative.

Hello. At 2:29 the bottles are closed with white caps to prevent loss of solvent. Can you tell me how they are called correctly?

But whan triethylamine added in mobile phase found result reduce the tailing while triethylamine have amine group why not show secondary interaction

Are there any issues with buffers corroding the pump pistons? Does ammonium formate specifically cause these issues? I know certain salts can be quite problematic, but I’m not sure about ammonium formate specifically.
