Today I have the same trouble, a cheap 32" lcd tv no picture but sound is ok and the led backlights are also ok. I found out there is short in that panel circuit board but the owner are not willing to spend $50 my charge to him for the parts and labor.

sir ye jo apne smd ka paste lagaya h ise kya kehte h,kya ye soldring k time bhi dobara se lagana chahiye,ye dc to dc ic alag se mil jati h kya,aur ye transistor jo apne same no ka lagaya h ya keval npn pnp dekhkar bhi koi dusra transistor bhi laga sakte h

@ProHack I have an LG 42LM6700 model led tv. The sound is very low when the setup box's RCA cable is connected to the TV's sound input. When it is connected through HDMI or a movie is played through USB or KZfaq, sound is fine. That means there is no problem with speakers or it is not a configuration problem. The problem is in the sound card which takes and processes input. Could you please let me know what could be the problem? Official service centre person told that the motherboard should be replaced. I know these guys are idiots and are there to make money in the place I live.
