A compilation of Le Mans prototypes and race cars in Gran Turismo 4, one lap at a time. Cars used according to the GT Wiki, so apologies if you notice any mistaken inclusions.
Emulated with PCSX2 1.6.0 at 4K, with some at 1440p due to performance issues.

Man, I remember the Peugeot had bad gear changes and acceleration in a straight line. Still a fun car to drive though, but not exactly the one to use for championships like GT All Stars or GT World Championship...

Its tire wear fuel consumption was by far the best which really made up if you were at least an okay driver. But for the tight tracks in GT world it was damn hard to keep up with it going against Saubers and R92s.

Ah GT4 loved this game, played it way too much! The Courage cars were my favourite but i also remember them being very expensive to buy lol

Actually Toyota GT-One was a GT car as its name suggests. Although it was clearly a prototype it was racing in the GT1 class

There is a gt version that's slightly slower. This 1 is for lmp class.

So satisfying to watch these cars get thrown around these corners max attack on GT4 the sence of speed you get with GT4 is actually so mich better than gt sport or Im its just in my head

until GT5 all Gran Turismo games actually played back at like 107% speed, this was done since GT1 on request of a friend of Kaz, originally Kaz wanted a pure realistic sim, but his friend convinced him to actually make the game play faster than it technically should because it makes it more fun and intense, so youre right it does seem faster because it is

Actually is because he's using a FOV mod, GT4 sense of speed is way worse than GT Sport or GT7

Honestly I wish all the cars here not in GT7 could return. I used to only over race with LMP cars it GT games. I played the heck out of GT4, still own it and play it occasionally. This video hits my nostalgia feels!

@@HdF-Nota I have always hoped to see El Capitan return, I never used to appreciate it that much but now it's probably my favorite track from GT4. Shame it appeared once (main title at least)

Same, in gt5/6 I almost exclusively used and tuned lmp cars due to their ridiculous potential. Shame gt sport had so little and gt7 straight up hard nerfed them.

It kinda did although it was the R90CP in 1990 it is still the same chassis with minor upgrades that makes the R92CP, and they both look the same in terms of bodywork apart from two flaps above the headlights and an air scoop on the roof.

those are gt1 cars, they need to have a homologation cars due of the fia rules to be classified as a gt1, like the r390. not counting the specs like weight and stuff

Some of the comments concern me when they conflate an LM Touring Car with a LeMans Prototype (LMP)... AMG CLK-GTR is a Touring Car, not an LMP... it doesn't even look like one.

There was no LMP in those years, the GT1 etc classing incorporated the top tier prototypes. Theses are all classed correctly.

It was something to do with ai in the game, I think it was to help them keep in a straight line but I'm not too sure.

After years ,i have actually started playing GT3 on ps2. been at it since July i only play twice a week for few hours and im hooked ,last night's finally finished beginner stage and finished all the non series events in amateur, the one car that i find my self going back to when it gets tough is the Honda Integra 400+ HP, of pure handling or The Vertigo race car ,back in Gt2 my fav one was the Nismo 400R,it was my absolute choice for endurance and Played GT4 for 10 mins and didn't like it ,too much understeer on a very underpowered car which felt very off 🙄

yeah. also another probably minor thing, the 88c-v and the r92cp from the game did not even race at le mans, it only raced in japan sport prototype championship iirc
