There is so much to love about this version of Le Silence De La Mer: the story, the setting, the script, the acting, the directing, the music score... the list goes on. Everything you could possibly want from a great film is in there. Of course, since it is a modern film, it is also colour and 16:9 widescreen.
After the film was first broadcast on French TV in 2004, it was briefly made available on DVD but it disappeared soon after and it has long since been out of print. You can occasionally find a copy on websites such as eBay but always at an exorbitant price. The official DVD also never included English subtitles. It was a French-language release only.

Jeanne lives with her grandfather in a large house in France and one of the rooms is requisitioned for Werner von Ebrennac, a German army Captain.
