@Aurora your comment makes it clear to me that you haven't been around broadway, or haven't been around it long enough, haven't known any people who have worked with her. I understand that you're a fan and it never feels good to know your idol isn't a great human being but sadly that is sometimes the case. Lea has been treating people like crap since before spring awakening. She hasn't changed. Trust me, for her coworkers sake I wish she'd changed, because nobody deserves to be treated the way she's been treating people she deems lesser than her. It's a shame because she's rather talented but she only has herself to blame for her awful reputation.

I saw her in Ragtime, singing this song at age 9 or maybe even just 8 at the pre-Broadway run in Toronto. While visiting some friends there, we got tickets to see what we knew was going to be a big hit in NY and of course it was. It was years later when she was in Glee and her previous work became known that I realized I must have seen her as a child in that show. I have kept all my Playbills and I dug that one out and sure enough, there she was, a little kid in the cast bio’s. I also had the original cast recording all those years without realizing that she was on it too.

we all should give pause and think, how would i react as a young performer who became super famous, rich etc at such a young age and overnight. not all handle it well performers, athletes etc. that doesnt necessarily equate to how you will be once things settled down. if all of us were judged throughout life for mistakes we made in our 20s we would all be fucked.

Ok many artists have become rich and famous at a young age and don’t have the reputation that lea has had in the industry. The problem is she hasn’t changed she hasn’t taken any responsibility for her actions she gave a bad apology cause she got caught she put blame back on the victim and acts like she hasn’t done anything wrong. She never talks about it she hopes it will go away. Yes I’ve made mistakes but I’ve own up to them I didn’t blame other people for my own mistakes I took responsibility.

I don’t give a rats ass about LM. All I am saying is we all make mistakes in our 20s. But I seriously doubt that anyone who writes about her actions has any first hand knowledge. It maybe true she is an ass but that is not proven by innuendo tweets etc. again all I am saying is that most people can be assholes. It doesn’t mean they r fir life.

Are there diva stories beyond her time on Glee? Because I think there is an explanation for that. She was a big Broadway star from Spring Awakening. The toast of Broadway, as they say. And then she was in Glee with a cast of unknowns. She was the only one who was already a big star. Did she feel she was better than the rest of the cast? Maybe. But, in a way, she was in a different league. So, while I am not excusing her diva behavior, I think there might be a reason.

@@nasirroper4011 there's essentially no evidence that Lea Michele has been abusive to anyone, just a few entitled people who feel she owed them something when she didn't. And leaving LM out of it, are you really saying you would rather have a poor show with a supposedly nice but feeble performer than a fantastic show with a performer who might not be a nice person ?? I don't want to be in a world as mediocre as that... So she’s apparently not super nice, or so the interwebs would have you believe. She’s also an amazing talent and her voice has matured since her Glee days. After hearing the many bad reviews of the new Funny Girl, I noted that many mentioned it was not a very well written musical, more of a showcase for talent. Maybe Murphy's way of presenting all those songs in the framework of a young driven engenue's long road to the revival of her destiny show, without our actually having to sit through thE second act waiting for the songs, was the better approach. We will always have Leas countless renditions on streaming platforms so I'm content as long as she is content. And she seems content. Also divas wil be divas. Baby, and Mariah, and Whitney were bitchy. Opera divas legendary bitchy. We just didn't have Twitter in their day.

@Aurora yes, my Aurora, bringer of light! I tend to dig for the 'iceberg'. I always wonder what Cory was doing if she was always so vile. I can't see him just turning away or chuckling. It doesn't make sense. Or Jonathon Groff. Well I hope she worked a good contract. I am sure she will crush it. She was amazing in Spring Awakening. And if she does , this will cement her as an icon.

You saw "bad reviews" of Lea? Where? The NY Times called her "stupendous." The Washington Post said, "When Lea Michele launches missile-like into “Don’t Rain on My Parade,” she doesn’t just bring down the house. She brings down the whole darn block." I saw the show opening night. The production itself is lame. And the second act drags. But none of the reviews had a bad word to say about her. More importantly, they said it takes a star like her to make the show come alive.
@jeffreywillstewart

@@jlasf I posted that during Beanies run. Lea wasn't even in the mix. The bad reviews were Beanies'! I saw Lea in Spring Awakening in 2007. Along with others in Wicked, and Magic Flute with its aria showcased in Fifth Element . Lea is the one that stood out. I have no doubt the Jersey Girl (who went along to an audition with a 8 yr old friend when the friends dad got sick & leas nurse mom drove her ) killed it!

@@jlasf it seems they didn't expect much with Beanie since the production and costumes are shoddy. Imagine if they were free to glamorize Leas wardrobe like like the amazing gowns worn by Streisand. I know she has been condemned to be difficult, but screw 'em.....the woman has talent, an amazing voice and one that emotes. Also, I have read the comments and chats that her GLEE co stars have said of her....but am I the only one to have noted that these complaints began after season 4 of that show ended. After her fiancé and other co star, committed suicide? I mean, of course, you put a group of amazingly talented young people in a musical show and there will be competition but GLEE, in the end, was her story and the others contributed to the whole story, through and with her. Even Naya Rivera, another amazing talent admitted in her book that she and Lea had a friendly but real competition but that they were friends. I must imagine that that show, which lasted so many years with a group of young people must have been so difficult.....that some have left the industry, 2 have died, some have tried to audition for the talent shows that are everywhere...but only Ms. Michelle (and Amber Riley) have continued, after dealing with an unspeakable loss, gossip, etc. I give her kudos for even going on after that and if Ryan Murphy, also known as a touch producer, creator, didn't discipline her, didn't find her to be a hard ass.....then why do the other much less successful young people condemn her? Just saying.
@Patri_P_P
@Patri_P_P 2 жыл бұрын
I'm happy you said that, cause I've been hearing those comments for years and with the scandal that there was with her recently, even her castmates admitted she was difficult to deal with AFTER Cory passed, which honestly, doesn't surprise me and I think people needed to give her a break for that... It surely couldn't be easier for her to continue the show without him. And she has apologized publicly after a person accused her publicly while she was pregnant (and it seems like it was all a lie to gain attention - said sources close to who accused her). - Just a little note, they were 3 that have passed now, sadly. And most have said how Ryan pitted them against each other constantly, and Lea was his favourite, so I'm not surprised if some of them had rivalries.

But this girl wanted its 5 minutes of fame. She took advantage of the movement and used it to her advantage, so sad. From what I heard a few months later, she has been problematic and her best friend admitted that she did it to gain attention by dragging Lea's name. Also, I follow Lea on social media and I think that even if she was a bit stuck up and let the fame get to her, she seems much more humble now, she was so young, is understandable to let the worldwide fame get to you.
