The UN Climate Change Conference (COP 26) in Glasgow, United Kingdom is a crucial opportunity to achieve pivotal, transformational change in global climate policy and action. It is a credibility test for global efforts to address climate change and it is where Parties must make considerable progress to reach consensus on issues they have been discussing for several years. COP 26 comes against the background of widespread, rapid and intensifying climate change impacts, which are already impacting every region on Earth. Also, COP 26 comes against the background of the COVID-19 pandemic, with the urgent need to build back better for present future generations to ensure a safe future.
The UNFCCC secretariat (UN Climate Change) is the United Nations entity tasked with supporting the global response to the threat of climate change. UNFCCC stands for United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. The Convention has near universal membership (197 Parties) and is the parent treaty of the 2015 Paris Agreement. The main aim of the Paris Agreement is to keep the global average temperature rise this century as close as possible to 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels. The UNFCCC is also the parent treaty of the 1997 Kyoto Protocol. The ultimate objective of all three agreements under the UNFCCC is to stabilize greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere at a level that will prevent dangerous human interference with the climate system, in a time frame which allows ecosystems to adapt naturally and enables sustainable development.

Yeap, forest role as carbon sink is vital. BUT MEASUREMENTS (at least one with planes and other from space, in 2020 so not included to IPCC's latest paper), not predictions, in Amazon rainforest have shown that these rainforests are drying and this have pushed Amazon from carbon sink to carbon SOURCE likely since 2017. So we have already come to a tipping point where earth lungs have begun to cough more carbon to the air and we can no longer count that they will suck our emissions from the air. Also arctic tundra has been counted as a huge carbon sink, but when scientists measured winter emissions that almost doubled the emissions, the area has changed from net sink to net source since 2017. These results has to be implemented to IPCC's models and results. This means that our carbon budget is heavily negative and needs huge tasks to withdraw carbon out of atmosphere by other means than forest. (Can't see a way to suck 1C or bit more worth of carbon from air that is needed for 2C target.) Even new forests are more prone to droughts and in their first decades of growth they produce more carbon from soil than they absorb. Young forest are also more likely to burn down by forest fires, more prone to pest damages and even droughts may damage them more. Also noting that lengthening of the growth season, even when conditions are better, is not happening according to recent studies. Forests have been a significant carbon sink, but will they be in the future? Forest cannot alone absorb enough carbon from atmosphere, so we could keep on emitting. We may have to seek, if we can put loads of rafts in the middle of our oceans and grow kelp forests to sink our emissions to the seas. After all 2/3rd of our planet is an ocean. On coastal areas this can't be done, because it could cause deoxygenation.

KlimaDAO’s goal is to accelerate the price appreciation of carbon assets. A high price for carbon forces companies and economies to adapt more quickly to the realities of climate change, and makes low-carbon technologies and carbon-removal projects more profitable. Island of New is the home of the third largest tropical rainforest in the whole world. Being the lung of the earth and uniquely diverse with different species of flora and fauna, the forest is increasing under threat due mainly to the interventions of foreign investors for illegal logging or logging operations, agriculture expansions (esp. oil palm development), mining activities. the forest cover clearance is happening at the alarming rate and need immediate actions to combat deforestation.

With due respect UN Officials, I love Earth, I love Nature, I love trees, I love fresh and clean air, I go for cities or urban areas with no pollution and with parks full of trees in every block, but how about humans, how about poverty reduction? In 1996, minimum wage was a little bit more than 4k, today is 2021, and minimum wage is just around 12 -14 thousand pesos, food alone for a single person is already around 30% to 35% of the gross compensation. Please help reduce poverty around the world too. Thank you very much.

Some suggestions to reduce global warming. Underground Apartments Dig huge deep circular holes. Build in them multi-story apartments. Claustrophobia may be reduced by having false internal windows fitted with video panels displaying landscapes. And, with modern plant-friendly lighting, one room may be a small planted garden. While there may be a central open hole for shops, entertainment, etc., the major part of the roof will be covered over by soil and trees. In addition, make it a law not to build any further on any flat ground. If someone wants to build, they must demolish and build over existing buildings. Build high - not wide. Underground Farms In similar multi-level structures, sow crops on each floor. From a central arm, hang and run harvesting equipment. This should keep insects out and reduce the need for dangerous agricultural chemicals. These structures will also be treed over. Increasing water supply Set up large desalination plants near coasts. These may supply water to burning forests and deserts. It may also supply water to fire-fighters: especially in forest fires. Mandatory Solar Panels. Make it a law that all new buildings must have solar panels. Sahara Sun Shade Mount high poles in the sand. Cover them over with cheap plastic sheeting.x Mount water sprayers from them fed from the nearest aquifers. In addition to preserving the water, the heat inside will cause the water to evaporate and drip onto the plants. Lay soil below. Sow plants with sand stabilizing roots at first. Plant trees later. Polar Parasol Put up a huge device in orbit over each Pole. It will have a central hub from which radiate reflective strips: each connected to remote-controlled rocket drones. If each strip is wide and high enough, it may cast a shadow several feet wide on the ground. The shade can be adjusted by rotating each strip 45 degrees or by stretching or contracting their length. I deal with many human problems in my novel “The Littlest Devil” by Richard Ahearn. Like “Gulliver”, a naïve little devil travels our Road of Life asking pointed questions on our behalf just like I would when I was a resident newspaper editorial cartoonist. He encounters many strange characters and situations.

No need to worry about forests now. COP 26 has agreed that no forests to be cut down from 2030. There may be a huge increase in destruction until 31st December 2029 releasing the stored carbon sink held by that forest and there will be less forest to soak up the CO2 until then. The promise to protect world forest in 2014 at the New York COP, appears to have failed. Still any new forest planted will start to sequester the CO2 and produce oxygen. After all, to sequester enough CO2 to replace the carbon in a destroyed forest will only take aboiut 300 years and will not be 100% efficient until the forest has finished the replacement of the original trees. Depending on the tree species, very liottle CO2 is absorbed until the tree reaches its maximum girth so very little is added to the carbon sink in the new forested area!

With due respect, our agricultural lands are being sold by most landowners probably because farmers arent fully supported or earnings from farming arent enough for them anymore. Maybe a UN channel handling this can help countries or recommend to leaders to provide every country with enough food, by giving full support to farmers -- keeping food prices affordable and accessible to all. Definition of indigenous:originating or occurring naturally in a particular place; native. HUMANS are indigenous by definition. Club of Rome identifies humanity as the ENEMY!! “All these dangers are caused by human intervention in natural processes, and it is only through changed attitudes and behaviour that they can be overcome. The real enemy then is humanity itself." That goes back to Georgia Guidestones first objective to maintain population at 500,000,000. They need to eliminate 7 billion people. These people are the enemies of mankind and YOU are a useless eater if you are not one of them. BEWARE!!!

CO2 is a trace gas in the atmosphere only 0.04 percent, but the IPCC say that CO2 is a dangerous GHG because it absorbs and emits strongly at 15 microns. According to Wien's displacement law 15 microns has a corresponding temperature of -80⁰ C. The troposphere, that's the part of the atmosphere we live in, is defined by molecules with a temperature of -60⁰ C and above. Emissions of IR from CO2 @ 15 microns cannot heat any molecules in the troposphere. That would violate the laws of physics. It is the sun that drives the climate on earth and not humans or our carbon emissions.
