When it comes to me personally, as a standard edition user, I'm far more outraged about the whole Pay-To-Win benefits that they added to both the new version and EOD. Although this is probably the least severe issue in all of this. I just don't want people to forget talking about it.

I have over 5000 hours in EFT. on 4/26/24 I officially escaped from Tarkov... and will be entering the Greyzone.

Quit 3 years ago for good, happiest decision I've made in gaming. I was addicted to tarkov when I first bought standard edition late 2018. A month in I knew it was my favorite game out, so I upgraded to EOD looking forward to getting ALL the future content. Slammed over a thousand hours into the game in just over a year while working all the time. If I wasn't out with buddies tarkov was what I was doing, and it was essentially the only game I played for awhile. Once the shittier (in my opinion) updates started rolling out around 2020 I started to lose interest. I could see where the game was headed. Right around when they added the test server is when I quit for good. I was invited to it, along with an invite to the discord. I reported many bugs, and kept bringing up issues I thought were rather big and especially annoying because of how many years some of these bugs had been around for. Needless to say, I argued with the wrong people and was promptly banned. Only came back for Arena (which is complete dogshit), other than that I am completely done. This is not the straw that broke the camel's back in my opinion, the camel's back has been broken for awhile tarkov players are just masochists who enjoy pain. No, this BSG is setting fire to the straw and laughing.

True believers? We bought EOD when the game was a fraction of its current development - parted with a wedge of cash for something that was riddled with bugs purely to support its development.

I have bought EoD because I wanted to support the game development. I saw the game as the most unique and high potential looter-shooter without any real competitors. My thoughts were always, once the v1.0 will drop, we will all be on the same ship - basic edition. Alpha container, no trader rep boost, no additional starting kits.... but now this ?! The game has lost complete touch and sense for what they were thriving for when they announced EFT

4:45 This was the line that caught my attention. According to Nikita, the people who paid over 4x the amount of the base game to support the game are not true believers. They never were. Coupled with the statement “everything is going according to plan” literally means that they were planning this. I don’t think this is actually the case of course. I think something happened behind the scenes to make Nikita shit a brick and give us the god awful response. Perhaps a considerable amount of the staff at BSG heard about this and didn’t feel good about it.

They could solve the server cost issue on PVE if they would run the environment on the PC thats playing, I mean I dont need a server for a "singleplayer" mode. Even COOP could run on the host. So that would be no or at least small costs for servers. Also why the very high price for not EOD owners? Some just look for a PvE Tarkov, why not a standalone PvE game then, they can add special editions but no game worth 250 to begin with.

The answer for the first question says why they said "Not everyone will be able to escape tarkov"

I feel like scam would be the wrong word to use for this discussion, but what if the purchase of the unheard edition and upgrade is meant for all the EOD users to be removed for that season pass(DLC) clause? Surely if it’s about server/load issues for PVE servers, I’m sure most of us would be okay to pay a reasonable fee for the mode to support it. Something from day one of this edition doesn’t add up and seems off.

The guy is burning his product because he knows he cannot deliver. Nothing works, the net code is still garbage, hackers are running riot, and every patch brings mountains of issues. He is treating it like its a released game, not early access.

If the server costs are the reason why it's so expensive, then give people the option to host the raids on their own computers like Offline Mode or SPT/Projekt Fika

The new pve mode don't need online servers for single player.. they can have a private server hosted by the player through software. They only need online servers for co-op.. its a waste of money to pay for servers for single players.. this really shows the lack of dev experience their team has.. The spt modders figured this out YEARS ago... the pmcs are just raiders with basic bitch gear even when high level.. they don't go to quest areas.. the pve needs a LOT of work to even be close to what the pvp experience offers.. right now it's lacking severley..

If the offline/single player is to expensive why not just make it peer to peer, and allow the host to run a small server of 5 people (including the host) and that would reduce to near nothing. That just sounds like a cop out, also you can't say you don't have money problems then complain about costs, doesn't make sense at all lol.

Literally the only reason I bought EOD was for all future DLC's, I didn't buy it for the extra stash size and starting loot, if anything I wish there was a toggle for those features because it removes gameplay, BSG literally ran a scam and I won't be playing this game any more, I'd rather try SPT at this point lmao

I still like Tarkov. It was sooo much fun! Even if we have grown apart I will always look at tarkov as my favorite game. I might not have time to play anymore but I still wish them success.

Look, im not a huge BSG shill, I hate many of the decisions they make but I get where they are coming from on this one. I dont think the single player mode should be treated as "DLC", theres no new content, its the same game but they need seperate servers and seperate development effort to maintain it through future patches. If people want it they should have to pay for it or noone would get it because its not finacialy feasible for the company to support. I do think it should be sold as a standalone purchase though, they are way off base there. People are being way too emotional about this without looking at it logically. The scav item is fucked though and should be removed.

You can not play pve without owning tarkov. Imo that means it is an dlc, because you can't play pve without tarkov. And it is just tarkov without pvp so it ahould cost less then normal pvp tarkov. It would be awesome for new players to progress through pve and then upgrade for10-20 bucks for the full pvp tarkov standard edition for the full experience

TLDR for the only explanation that makes sense imo: High attention to details makes development prohibitively expensive. No money left to finish the release version as Arena was the last hope. Microtransactions failed to cover costs: the audience is too grown-up. Had to go back to proven monetisation method of EOD-like pack. No money to pay for PvE servers for all EOD owners. No publisher to support. Can not tell the truth as the creditors would finish the company the next day. Will release an unfinished game to cut costs, lose reputation and will be closed. Maddox Games story repeated.

Just got SPT and I can say for a fact, SPT is worth it! You can basically design the game how you want it and have PMC’s feel more realistic, it’s not perfect but much better than anything BSG can do, when you die Yk it’s not because of a hacker haha

"It is not a mistake, but time to prepare for the release" probably means "we have to release the game but we do not have the budget to finish the game and the full release is under question". 2. "It's time to understand who are the true belivers" means "many on our own team (e.g. financial people) have doubts that the release is possible but I belive that it is and need support of similar belivers". 3. "We are not forcing anyone" means "Please help us if you can". 4. All the "no" answers mean "We ran out of options. The Arena was our last hope. Microtransactions proved they are not appealing enough to our grown-up audience, and there is no time to experiment with new ones. We had to chose the proven way of monetisation with a premium package. We have no publisher to help. The choice was between shameful failure and total shameful failure with end of career. We said several times that we do not want to make PvE COOP as it is not feasible to run servers but had to as it is our last hope". 5. "We can not tell you the truth because banks will not give us loans after this and creditors will come to finish us the next day." I witnessed the story of a sim company Maddox Games which after huge initial international success failed in about 8 years releasing unfinished game as they paid too much attention to details and ran out of budget. The company was shut down, game engine abandoned, their publisher bought another studio with their own sim engine to continue the series. Community made a deal with the publisher to finish the Maddox Games product and released a finished patch in a couple of years. We can face the same story as this is not an AAA studio, there is no publisher to back it up and the Arena failed. Ambitious attention to detail that we all like may kill the product as it is prohibitively expensive in development as Maddox Games proved. Maybe BSG is even looking for a publisher now to save it and has to show some traction no matter what. I do not believe they got as desperate because of pure greed. Probably their careers and reputations are at stake. Too many people in 2016 said they will fail.

The root cause of all this is BSGs communication, or lack there of... imagine if they just introduced all this from an honest standpoint... it would have gone over way different... but they keep shooting themselves in the leg. they sorely need a translator, and a good one at that!

At least make everyone pay the same without exchange rates
