Sandra Reaves-Phillips (Ms. Powers) is such a multi-talented actress. I remember having the good fortune of attending one of her theater presentations at El Camino college with my mother and frat twin brother many years ago in which she was paying tribute to all the great black jazz/blues women of the 20th century. To see her channeling Billie Holiday and Dinah Washington on stage was indeed akin to an outright transcendental experience, let me tell ya!!! RIP sista, you did mighty good here on earth and this film will forever remain your brightest moment. 😌🌟🙏

I love when African American women sing I used to have aunt Karen sing amazing grace it was so beautiful I cryed!!!! Im white but I can recognize beauty when I see it!!!
