In this video I show you how to swap rubber domes on a Plum 87. It originally comes with a 35g dome sheet, but I swapped it for 45g domes and Im a happy typer.
You can get replacement rubber dome sheet on Ebay here:
goo.gl/9T6trb
I ordered from this seller. It ships from South Korea and it got to the US in about a week. Mine was packaged in a box very nicely and I highly recommend based on my experience.

An important final step that wasn't mentioned in the video: After reassembling the keyboard, you will almost certainly need to calibrate the keys again, as described here: www.nizkeyboard.com/2019/07/07/some-keys-doesnt-work-look-at-this/ If you don't do this, you may find that the actuation points are all messed up and some keys may not work at all, especially if (like me) you weren't too diligent about placing the springs in exactly their original positions. The springs are not perfectly identical, and moving them around seems to change the capacitances enough to require recalibration. Unfortunately the instructions on that web page (linked above) are a bit deficient. For a start, if you get a missing DLL error when attempting to run the calibration program, you will need to download and install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 redistributable package from www.microsoft.com/en-au/download/details.aspx?id=5555 Secondly, the instructions for step 3 appear to be incorrect. At least, it didn't work for me as it's written. So here are the correct steps: 1. Click the "ReadVersion" button. 2. Without holding any keys down, click the "InitialCalib" button. 3. For every key on the keyboard, hold the key down and click the "PressCalib" button while holding it down. Yes, you'll need to do this for *every* key on the keyboard.

I swapped 35g to 55g but it turned out that half of keys were not working. I thought i was doomed. Comment of yours solved the problem and i am very grateful. Thank you! Keyboard - 68 atom

Thanks for this! I'm really considering getting the Atom 68 and maybe playing around with the different domes they have available. Will definitely come back to this if ever I decide to do just that.

Excellent video! Just enough editing to remove the unnecessary repeating of unscrewing and moving domes, and yet long enough to thoroughly explain every step!

Anyone has any experience with cutting the waterproof version of this dome sheet? I accidentally got sent the wrong item twice in a row (bad luck, I know) first it was a bag of springs instead of a dome sheet, and now it's the 100+ key dome sheet with a waterproof edge... if I cut off the excess part it won't have the raised edge and well, won't be the waterproof version anymore but will it cause any issues with the fit, you reckon?

Thanks for the instructions. One question: Is this the waterproof version? It looks like it. Then again it looks exactly the same in the inside as a normal x87.

Do you sell 35g rubber domes? Will the 87 rubber domes work with a plum 84 if I cut individual domes out for the keys on the right? Will individual domes that are cut out stay in place and work properly?

Hi I received a micro82 yesterday, I immediately noticed that on the table the keyboard wobble and it seems unstable, doing a little force on the corner with problems seems to settle. Have you noticed this too? do you think I should do ? thanks

Hi, I got a this keyboard finally. but I have a question. this one is too soft and especially when I play games, there are lots of mistaken input, so does 45g or greater dome help make this keyboard firm or heavy? what does the dome exactly function for the keyboard?

Why don't you try the BKE redux domes? Those have been made as reissue of Topre domes used on Sony BKE keyboards, and they are more tactile and refined

Is it alright to cut the domes into single pieces for them to fit into the non-standard keys? For example, replacing the rubber dome on an 84-key layout.

@@eateren6788 I see. I saw in Haata's force curve that 55g Korean domes is really similar with Topre 45g. Is it though? And how about ABKO 45g is it quite a resemblance to topre 45g but less loud? Also AFAIK ABKO and Niz has the same OEM, no? So it should be similar in some way. Or no?

@@eateren6788 dangg thanks! You tempted me to buy it lol. I live in South Korea right now, so access to Gmarket is piece of cake. Is it made in china? I checked ABKO 45g force curve, but looks like it has quite a drop in force which isnt kinda linear-ish?.. i dunno though, maybe I should go to a local store and try it out.

Quick question: how are the clips on this board when opening it? I know that, for instance, you can't open a Ducky One 2 TKL without breaking off some of the actual clips because of the way it's constructed. I'm very interested in this board, but I'd like to put 55g domes in if I do decide to get it...
