Couple of things.. You didn't play what he played harmonically but yours was dope too. What he did was more simple chromaticism and you took what he did and reharmed it which was dope. Watching this vid is like getting a two for one.

What he played in the left hand (one hand is easier for me but he was sometimes grabbing the top note with his right hand thumb which is fine) under that melody was: F D Eb D D C B Bb A Bb A G# G F# F Harmonically I think of what he did as an F major triad in first inversion, a rootless E7 (keeps with the chromatic theme mores than calling it an Abdim although same thing lol), Then an Ebmaj and Dmaj triad in first inversion followed by a Bbmaj (back to the one) in second inversion. Again yours was dope too, but you already broke that down, gives it a slightly jazzier George Shearing flavor. His is simpler chromaticism built around inverted major triads (not including the rootless E7).
