I happened upon these videos a number of years ago, and have now studied quite a bit of Ancient Greek with mixed success on my own, and I am delighted to be back with Professor Muellner and Ms. Gillespie again; or, at any rate, their 2016 selves. I have now studied Hansen & Quinn to Chapter 20, but have not memorized nearly enough. I understand, then promptly forget. So, I am back again to watch all the videos. To put this rich and subtle knowledge online must have been a lot of work, and is a tremendous help to those who really wish to learn Ancient Greek, but for one reason or another, are not able to do it formally at school. Thanks again to Professor Muellner, Ms Gillespie, and the Center for Hellenic Studies.

This is exactly my case! My university stopped teaching Greek last year... they've left us in the dust- but Professor Muellner and Ms. Gillespie to the rescue!

Personally I have a deep interest in history and literature, but I'm stuck having to provide for my family and unable to pursue college due to time and money constraints, but that's fine with me since I enjoy coming home and learning as a hobby and I'm not pursuing it for a career path :)

Apart from the fact that these videos are an amazing learning tool, they also have a fascinating level of sincerity and hidden drama to it :) "Wilted flower", "fade away", "sink" (verb examples). I don't know what they are doing but they aren't just educating me, they also making me feel different (in a good way:). Thank you!

Interesting. I never though of determiners or articles as being adjectives but some people do consider them. Thanks for this new insight.

you should see what the standard text books offer, even the "progressive" ones... most manage to be a splendid re-introduction to the social mores of classical Greeece, or perhaps those of English Public School Classics Masters....

Reminds me of a hilarious passage from Patrick O'Brian's Aubrey Maturin Series book HMS Surprise: "I was repeating phrases from this little book. It is all I could get, aside from the Fort William grammar, which is in my cabin. It is a phrase book, and I believe it must have been compiled by a disappointed man: My horse has been eaten by a tiger, leopard, bear. I wish to hire a palanquin; there are no palanquins in this town sir. All my money has been stolen. I wish to speak to the collector; the collector is DEAD, sir. I have been beaten by evil men. Yet salacious too: Woman, wilt thou lie with me?"

Been a minute and a half but the textbook seems to be Greek: an Intensive Course by Hardy Hansen. Googled the author names they dropped.

What has this video got to do with greek? This is why people get so confused on KZfaq videos because people lie, there wasn't even 1 word of greek in this video wake up people!!
