Thank you Miss for your useful lesson. May I ask you a question? Can I omit "that" in the passive form (It + be + P.P + that clause)?

Yes, some speakers/writers omit "that."

Dear Prof, I was wondering if I might dare to ask you a question ? Is there any difference in meaning between these two sentences: A) I’m NO Angel B) I’m NOT an Angel Or A) I’m NO teacher B) I’m NOT a teacher. Thank you very much indeed. Wishing you and your own family a very happy Season's greetings". Love you. Andrea P.S Buon Natale , Jennifer.

Hi Andrea. Good question. "No" + noun is more emphatic. They have the same basic meaning. We also do that with celebrity names. Example: I'm no Rembrandt, but I enjoy painting. See entry for determiner (#5) - www.ldoceonline.com/dictionary/no "Larry is no friend of mine." (Emphasizing that he's not my friend.)

Thanks..passive is useful in headlines but active tense is best for communication..

It's true that the passive is more common in writing, but there are times when the passive serves our needs in speaking. Remember this post? englishwithjennifer.wordpress.com/2023/11/17/is-grammar-a-superpower/

@@Englishwithjennifer classic note on passives, as always.. But passive avoid the subject. It puts the pressure on the listener to find out! The here and now of the active is dynamic, moves in from flower to flower 🌺🌻🌹🌷like the butterfly.. Persian language is largely passive with the object before the verb.. The pronoun is omitted, you have to guess.. It is often submerged as a suffix in the verb ending! But thanks for the link to your piece on passive grammar.. (Just returned from a long trip to the forests of Central India among the tribals..)

Thank you for this informative lesson and challenging quiz. Using the impersonal passive will bring variety to our paragraphs. It is good to know. By the way, you look nothing like Winona Ryder. It is a bit like saying that I look like Old Blue Eyes. Do you know to whom I am referring? 🤠

I don't mind the comparison. I like the actress, but I do think there are differences. Yes, I know Sinatra very well. :)

Wonderfully written! Yes, it's often said that practice makes perfect, but the truth is that perfection is not really achieved. Or if it is, then it's temporary because there's something new to learn tomorrow and more to aspire to!

That's a good example of the dynamic passive. Someone told you that, but we don't know who. You could rewrite it like this: Our new boss is said to be a bit bossy.
