If you want to improve your English level, I consider a method. You listen to English stories and then have to read the story aloud. This method improves your listening and pronunciation as well as your sentence structures. I follow this method and I can see my improvements. try this and tell me if it worked or not.

Yes it is. Nearly every story here, the originals are much longer. These are called abridged versions. Unabridged means the original long version of the story.

It sounds like a metaphor but really is just saying that Toad would not come to the wood even if you offered a lot of money.
