Thank you for your information. I have been on Ribociclib and have been for about 14 months. I have minimal side effects. Most are my fault. I don't eat enough before taking the meds. But I have never felt better. I had my surgery about 8 weeks ago. my breast and my tumor are gone. they took out 9 lymph nodes on my right underarm. I am doing and feeling great. I go every two weeks for blood work and ecg. My oncologist is very positive. I have HER negative breast cancer. I am very positive. I want to live so badly. I push myself to eat well and exercise and laugh and not worry about what is to come. I want to do anything I can to prevent it from spreading , of course. I started with stage 3 metastic breast cancer. My surgeon and my oncologist says I am a very lucky woman. Your videos explained much better than what I had thought. I live in Italy and italian is not my first language. I struggle and mis the inuendos. But I usually take a person with me who is more fluent in the language. I have had an incredibly wonderful year. I hope I have many more. I really appreciate your candor and information . I am not looking at this as a death sentence, I look at it as a challenge I am happy to accept. Katie

My intro : I have metastatic breast cancer, Liver and bones, Er+, PR+ Her2-. I am a 55-year-old mother of 4 kids and post-menopause. Condition: No physical pains, Feeling normal but weak. Eating normally. I've been on a regimen of Palbociclib and Letrozole for the past 19 days, and recently, I received my CA153 test results. Last month, before starting the Palbociclib and Letrozole treatment, my CA153 level was recorded at 137. However, today, my most recent test indicates an elevation of CA153 =267. Platelets low to 159 WBC 2.9 HB 10. Before that, I had 15 weekly Taxol (paclitaxel) sessions. Until 12 sessions, CA153 decreased to 83 but again started rising to 137, so the Doctor prescribed Palbo + Letrozol. Started pacli from 142 CA 153. So can you please provide your experience? Does Palbociclib and Letrozole take longer to work? Should I give more time to see its result ?

Thank You Dr Liz for explanation I never was told,I ve been cured with Amebaciclib and Letrozolo since 2019, collateral effects often made me cry but they are saving my life,,,,now they reduced Ameba from 150 to 100mg and I started to live again,,,,,,O))))quite normally,

Hi Dr. Liz, thank you for the insightful video! I am a 24-year-old breast cancer patient. I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in May 2023, ER and PR positive, Her2 negative, and a Ki-67 of 12%. My tumor measures about 5.6x3.7x2.9cm, grade 2, with enlarged lymph nodes in the right axilla; the largest measures 2.8x2.1cm. I have just completed my neo-adjuvant chemotherapy (4 cycles of Taxol + 4 cycles of AC) and am waiting to have my operation (BCS) next month. The chemotherapy worked quite well, and the tumor has shrunk to

i have MBC ER+PR+ Her2-. Did chemo , radiation and now take Letrozole ans ibrance for alil over a year now ans have 3 straight clear pet scans. Next one is Jan .

Hello dr. Liz, thanks for making such nice and informative video. My mom was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer and had metastasized to the liver. On April, the doctor has removed all of her left breast and prescribed 125mg Ibrance along with letrozole. After 3 cycles of consuming them for about 4 months, the mass on her liver grow bigger. Doctor said that the ibrance treatment is not responding. Doctor then gave the choice to try with ribociclib (which she is taking right now 1st cycle) or chemotherapy. If the 1st cycle doesn’t show improvement Doctor suggest chemotherapy as the only option. Since my mom is 70 y.o. Already I’m afraid that chemotherapy will only bring negative side effect and add more to the pain. Can you please give any advise or anything that is useful for her condition? Frequent abdominal pain and constipation seem to be the worst symptoms that she has right now. 😢 Looking forward to hear from you. Warm regards, rudy.

Hello dr Liz...can you explain why hormone therapy isn't started sooner, for example at the same time as radiotherapy? I am concerned about the gap between surgery and starting radio... can't any residual disease start to spread in this time? Wouldn't starting hormone therapy help or must hormone therapy be started at the same time as abemaciclib?

Thank you for this informative video. I was diagnosed de novo in July 2021 with ER+ Lobular carcinoma at the age of 69. I have been on Letrozole and Ibrance since then. I had a clean petscan and normal blood cancer marker tests about nine months after starting the drugs. In late April I had another clean petscan but since then my blood cancer marker tests have been creeping up. I will have another petscan in July. I have done really well on this protocol with only some minor side effects. If there is progression found on the petscan my Oncologist will probably put me On a new protocol. Some other MBC patients have said that when their Ibrance stopped working their Oncologist’s took them off for seven weeks and then put them back on with success. Have you heard about any studies supporting this? Thank you for your time. BTW I love the clothing you make. I am also a craftsman!

Thank you so much for your videos. I just discovered them and it is SO helpful. If I understood well, you mentioned that for approx 20% of women the CDK inhibitors will never work. How can we find out? I'm taking Verzenio for early stage BC with high risk of recurrence and I will need to take it for 2y but what if I belong to this 20% of women and yet I still take Verzenio (and get the nasty side effects) and at the end I still have recurrence. Is there a way to know if Verzenio is doing its job, and if not I can stop taking it before the 2y period? if you have read anything about it, please do share. Thank you.

Thanks so much - excellent information! I’m in Canada and was diagnosed with an 8.5cm ILBC, ER/PR+ & HER2-. I’ve had Chemo, a mastectomy and I’m now on Letrozole and about to begin radiation this week. My Blue Cross coverage has denied my Oncologist’s request to put me on Verzenio because my KI67 score was below 20%. I’m slightly miffed and waiting to see what other options there are. Really enjoy your channel and am wishing you all the best with your current treatment ❤️

Sorry to hear that. Most lobulars are very slow growing so low Ki67 (mine was) and very responsive to hormonal treatment. There haven't been many trials that have broken down the response to the CDK inhibitors to ductal and lobular yet

Hi Liz, thank you for this very informative video. I would just like to ask if you were ever on Verzenio? I had 3 tumours, one ductal, two lobular and 11 positive lymph nodes, yet I was never offered Verzenio. I was on Anastrozole for a year and now 2 years on Examestane. Should I be on Verzenio as well?

I'm in 7th week of abemaciclib it is really difficult to cope with the side effects. It is very depressing when I think that it is a 2 years journey. They say that between the 2nd and 4rth mont your body tolerate it better. Do you agree that in most cases the quality of life improves? Thanks for all your efforts to help us.

My doctor has pulled me off of verzenio for 2 to 4 weeks due to inflammation I'm my lungs. I'm hoping after the break I will be able to tolerate it. I really feel like my severe outdoor and indoor allergies are causing some of my shortness of breath and that I can return to this treatment. We have had a horrible spike in pollen counts plus I watched a friend's dog not realizing it sheds. It must have been the perfect storm. I'm so anxious about being off of it!

Thanks a bunch for the full insight! ❤️ My mother was ER positive and Her2 negative when diagnosed in 2015 April and her breast cancer metastasised to brain, lungs and nodes on 2020 December. She was was on Capecitabine first for 8 months staring from 2021 February , which stopped working.. later she was switched to Abemaciclib and Exemstane but unfortunately this stopped working from 2023 January and upon conducting a biopsy.. her ER positive turned out to be negative. As a result she isn’t on any medication now. Everything has been stopped. Could you help me understand why the ER positive turned out to be Negative and is there no medications/therapies after that? Since her health has been deteriorating and not is a proper condition for chemo(as suggested by local oncologist), is there anything that can be done?

Breast cancer when it spreads can keep mutating and can lose or gain receptors. It’s quite common. I’m so sorry that she is struggling. Thank you for sharing this with us.

I started with her2 positive (borderline) disease and after chemo it became negative...it can change unfortunately.

Hello, i have metastatic breast cancer that spread to lungs, ibrance and fulvostrant worked for 2,3 weeks , this morning i started feeling tightness in chest , coughing again , shortness of breath . is that a sign of resistance or maybe a side effect

Three months after I was diagnosed with breast cancer, my Mother was diagnosed with nsclc stage 4. We've went through treatment together. She passed away suddenly this year February, just before I was to start radiotherapy. I say suddenly, because we were told the immunotherapy and chemotherapy made this tumor shrink and it looked like we were going to get extra time. But one morning she was fine, feeling good, coughed and dropped dead in my Dad's arms. Apparently the tumor popped. I've still not dealt with this, but I know, despite her suffering more than me, she was my rock during cancer treatment. I can only imagine what you feel at the moment with the new recurrence! I wish you nothing but a quick recovery, good health and strength! ❤️

Why is it, that we stay only two years on Abemaciclib? Is there no benefit to stay on it any longer?

For women with a primary cancer, the trials looked at 2 vs 3 years and the results showed that 2 years was enough.

Those meds are horrible!!! Make me terribly nauseous, dizzy and I canT get out of bed. I have read that there isn't any full study's that prove they work.
