In today's video, I will teach how to use the famous Finnish filler word, noni, in Finnish like a boss. Master the filler words is actually quite important if you want to sound like a natural Finnish.
When I'm learning a language, I always come up with funny & ridiculous examples to make the learning more interesting. I hope it also helps you to remember them.

If you change the "No" part into "Ai" (Ainiin), the meaning changes into you remembering something ("Oh, right"). The intonation rules are mostly same too.

Not to be rude but no one will notice any difference in Norway if you use Noni occasionally lol. I tried to learn Norwegian but when I found out that people speak a different dialect in every 10 km or so, I just gave up.

There's pretty similar phrase in Polish: "no nie" (even sounds similar :P) Frustration/disappointment: NO nieee... example: "NO nieee... znowu..." = "Oh no... again..." Anger: NO NIE!!! example: "Kurwa, NO NIE!" = "NONIIIIN, perkele!" no NIE? example: "Dobre, no NIE?" = "That's good, don't you think?" or -"Dobre!" = "Good/Nice" -"No NIE?" = appreciation (that someone likes something, in this case) no NIEEE...? example: "Mówiłem Ci, no NIEEE...?" = "I told you, didn't I...?" (disappointed) or -"Słabe..." = "That's bad..." -"no NIEEE...?" = "I think so..."

Really interesting commentary and fun quirk of the language! Just a note though concerning the first example, the verb to borrow is when you take something from someone (to give it back). If you give it to someone who is borrowing it from you, the verb for yourself is to lend. Like "I am lending it to you, will you give it back?" "Yes, I am only borrowing it from you, I will give it back, thanks for lending it to me". So the first example would be "hey do you remember you lent me the handcuffs?" I know another Finnish person making the same mistake so I found that funny

Im from Canada, my Mom is of pure Finnish decent and grew up in a place in Saskatchewan called "Uusi Suomi" to those that are from there. Her brothers and sisters were fluent in Finn, it was their first language I believe. My Mother was 20 years younger, so she was quite young when her brother married a girl who couldnt speak Finn. My Grandfather made a new household rule that out of respect for his daughter in law, Finn was no longer to be spoken at home. He said if you speak it when she is not around you will forget when she is. As a consequence english was my Mothers first language and Finn, except for certain words were lost to my generation. Thank you for this opportunity to learn😁 its familiar yet foreign to me like a song I know the melody to, but not the words 😁
