Lovely interview and huge respect to her 👏many times I feel woman from earlier generations (our grandmothers ) were much stronger had lot of mental strength and courage and resilience than us. One thing which this generation has to learn from .We have so many facilities, opportunities and privileges , which they dint have then , still they faced it all and made it beating odds 👏👏

Earlier generations had other privileges that many don't have now. They had mostly a huge emotional support from their huge families and extended families, also, times were more simple than these days. Today, we have to consider much more knowledge.

I have the privilege having known Mangalam for nearly fifty years and our friendship is deep and strong. We have volunteered in the same cultural organization for several years. She is extremely affectionate, down to earth and modest. She never talks about her achievements. For instance, we had to know from the news story in The New York Times that she was named one of the 50 (or 100, I forget) influential women in the country and she was recognized in a ceremony in New York by Mrs Elizabeth Dole, a cabinet member in President Bush's cabinet! And we friends had to find this out from a newspaper story! This personifies her inner make-up.

Loved listening to the interview. One thing I disagree with is accepting partners the way they are. I am proud of the choice I made for myself.

Great interview! Mangalam Chidambaram (I love to call her aunt Mangalam), a lady with grit to bring change within the community. Learnings: There is no shortcut to success, continuous learning upgrades one to spring up new opportunities, restless needs to unhappiness, pause in life to make the right decision, being busy and focused on work besides accepting your spouse as human to build the bond despite the difference of opinion, marriage is a bonding vs partnership, money is the root cause for evils within families, nothing is improbable but should be negotiable to be successful, work towards goal rather than pushing to reach the goal. Thanks to Yana TV!!

I randomly stumbled upon this channel and listening to this great soul speak so humbly and true about her life reminds me of my people too. You see I am of Indian origin from Guyana and I see in her my aunts and other Indian women like her who are her age. It was same struggles our people went through back in the times especially when they came in ships as indentured labourers to these shores when it was British Guiana from 1838-1917! And what coincidence many Girmityas came from Madras(now Chennai) while the majority sailed from Calcutta. If you can madam, please convey my fraternal love and respect to this pleasant and wonderful woman. I somehow feel a close connection to her...my roots...!

This is the first time I am watching your channel. It is very interesting to watch. Lovely to see you interviewing your Mom-in-law. Though you both are mixed culture but there is a mutual and genuine relationship and love and respect is reflected over your talk. Very happy. This was the best Women's Day celebration ever.

luv her generation and I'm privileged and honored and appreciative that I come from that generation I witnessed beautiful life and wisdom. Today's modern society doesn't know life they rely on a mobile phone but dnt want to learn the fundamentals and real life. Hard graft was our happiness less was more we learnt
