I have tried Fusion 360 tutorials before this one but they were all old and the GUI has had multiple updates since those videos were made which made navigating and selecting functions extremely difficult, I ended up drawing the basic shape of the part in Tinkercad and then importing into Fusion for things like filets, hopefully I can learn the workflow of Fusion with this tutorial

@@MakersMashup it's funny when I was in high school my engineering teacher 3d printed fidget spinners and sold them in the school store. I recently went in the same room and they got so many more advanced printers than the tiny one he used to have. I think alot of people bought them though

So this will be off subject but I wasnt sure if you answer old videos or not. I just got a Bluer Plus from two trees and its printing but everything is twice as tall as it should be like its been stretched. I ran a calibration cube and its exactly twice as tall as it should be. Do you know what it could be? I use cura

Sounds like z steps per mm are wrong. I'd reach out to two trees shouldn't do that out of the box.

Use pronterface to check and set M92. Pop into the discord, someone or myself can walk you through troubleshooting it.

@@MakersMashup oh ok, so i looked it up and this would have to be a factory firmware thing because i have no access to the firmware. Is there a G Code way? Maybe through USB.

Pronterface will communicate with the printer at the firmware level but it's really odd you having the issue. I'd be sure you're not setting something wrong in the slicer. Is this your first print?

After following along on the sketch and extrude, when you right-click to drag/rotate mine instead draws a line and prompts to delete. Totally new to 360 but it seems like every video I watch has different interactions than I do, even one as recent as this one which is like 5 months old. Is 360 just this unstable where they can't keep basic interactions consistent or have I somehow changed some setting off its default? Anyone know? These seemingly super simple things are constant roadblocks to trying to use this and I just don't know if it's user error or the software. Edit: When I create a sketch it and select a pane/side, it also doesn't go to the flat, 2D view and just stays in the previous view. I'm assuming it's my install since I have these and/or similar problems with every walkthrough video I watch, but I've tried using 360 only twice now so I'm not sure what I could have accidentally changed. Any suggestions are welcome, I don't know the verbiage well enough to google my way out of it and all google results so far have been many year old articles that don't seem to contain the same names/options/preferences.

I'm kind of frustrated too - this video is relatively new but the Fusion 360 version I downloaded is just different enough. The video is great though, I just wish the program hadn't changed so much, I might have to move on to another video.

@@1Bean1 This video ended up being a huge help for me, but only after I hunted down some of the settings changes to make my install match up with the video. No idea if I made the changes or it's just changes in new versions, but I found if I googled how to change each thing that stumped me I was able to get it to mirror the videos. Like you aid, they were *just* different enough to totally stop me. Strongly recommend looking them up one-by-one -- not only helped me follow videos, but also helped me better understand the software and its options.

@@beepboopbeepboop190 Thanks. I ended up paying for the most recent fusion 360 video course I could find on udemy (it's 3 months old). So far so good. Not knocking this video, I like it too, but googling for me at this stage of my understanding is not for me right now.
