In this lesson we will learn how to talk about time in Hebrew. We will learn the days of the week, how to ask for the time and how to answer. We will also meet some Israelis in Gan Meir park in Tel Aviv and ask them about their daily routine!

We Greeks have the same words of the weeks, because we considered Orthodox Christianity the continuation of Jewish religion. Sunday: Kiriakí (Lordly) Monday: Theftéra (Second) Tuesday: Tríti (Third) Wednesday: Tetárti (Fourth) Thursday: Pémti (Fifth) Friday: Paraskeví (Preparation) Saturday: Sávato (Sabbath) So even though we rest on Sunday, we still count the days as Jews and kept the Jewish name for Saturday. We even named Friday Preparation, because Jews used to prepare food for Saturday, as it's forbidden to work and cook!!! I also found out all this very recently, and most Greeks don't know!!! As you see, Constantinople had lots of respect for Jewish tradition!!! 🤗❤️🇬🇷

Hi. Seeing בקר instead of בוקר was strange to me. I did a bit of research and I think בוקר is 'ktiv male', am I right? Also, is it true that 'ktiv male' is becoming the standard Hebrew script?

@@DanielGanorLearnHebrew Thank you very much. I have another question: צהריים is written with kamatz on the first two letters, but most pronunciations I've heard transliterate to tsohoraym. In the book I read it is also transliterated that way, but the audio clearly says tsaharaym which is compatible with my expectation for kamatz to sound like "a". I'm confused about this. (I have the same issue with the word מחרתיים moHrotaym vs. maHrataym)
@DanielGanorLearnHebrew
@DanielGanorLearnHebrew 5 жыл бұрын
In all those instances the first vowel is Kamatz Katan, which looks the same as kamatz, but is pronounced different, as the vowel O. So the correct pronunciation is Tzohora'im and Mohorata'im. The second vowel is Hataf-Kamatz (Kamatz with 2 dots) which is always O.
