So, let me tell ya'. I'm 55 and I live in Louisiana. I've been instructed to learn to release the sounds and KNOW what each "blast" mean.. and you just made the (blowing part) possible for me. THANK YOU from New Orleans

oh my goodness! That part where you made the noise, and kept making the noise while you brought the shofar to your lips - was my breakthrough! I've been sitting here for about 10 minutes watching different videos with no results. I imitated your sound (that was a bit tough - and showed me my problem!) and moved it to my lips and SUCCESS!!! LOL Thank you! I haven't been able to do it a second time, but having done it once at least, consistency is not far behind!

Moshe this was such a good video! Just got my shofar yesterday, have never even played a musical instrument. So this was just what I needed to get started. For those wondering why I want to play shofar, it’s because I am a Christian who cherishes the Jewish roots of Christianity.

High and low sounds is hard on that short a shofar. But they are not required.

Isn’t Rash Hashanah, Yom Teruah, The Feast of Trumpets, a time where the shofar trumping is an integral part of the festival, even though it’s a marked sabbath? Lev 23:24

A "Chauffeur" is a person who drives you around from location to location. However, not pronounced the same as "chauffeur", is the "shofar", a kosher horn (preferably a rams horn) to remember that God provided a ram for Abraham as a sacrifice instead of Isaac, his only son.
