I could be wrong but I assume the HK's work culture hasn't changed one bit.. their job interviews are probably dead serious and full of grilling!! Here in N. America, most hiring mangers care most about personality fit... they are not too concerned with testing your technical skills if they already got a robust background check in place. I also don't really get why employees in HK nowadays are still hungry for their reference letter out of their most recent/current employer... I mean, what if your boss was a total douchebag? you think you could get a positive one if at all?

As a person who is currently working as one of the top consultant firms in the world and in IT, the interviewer appreciates if you’ve said you wanna take their place bc that means the interviewer will move up the ladder. I think it’s okay and not offensive.
