Learn how to make this Table Runner and discover a quick way to calculate cutting sizes for Quarter Square Triangles. It's a great project for beginner quilters not ready to take on a larger project. This Fat Quarter Friendly table topper can be completed in a weekend. Experienced quilters might also find this pattern good for experimenting with different fabric combos.

Usually you want to round up to the next measurement. In the video, I rounded down as the difference was smaller than 1/10 of an inch. In hindsight, it probably is easier to round up to 7" rather than 6 7/8" as 7" is much easier to find on a ruler.

Which Quarter Square Triangle calculation do you plan on using?

Hi Donna! I understand...sometimes best to start where you feel comfortable. Our Quick Quilt and Trip Around the World Quilt are made from squares. Hello! Thanks for viewing our video. Sorry if the title was misleading - quilting can refer to piecing or securing quilt sandwich together. I quilted this by following the seam lines; aka "stitching in the ditch". Hello again! I added the finished sizes at the top for both the smaller runner with three large center squares and for the larger runner with 5 large center squares. Please note that many folks like to add a border using Fabric A. You'll need some extra fabric for this and those amounts are in parentheses. I double checked the all fabric amounts and they are correct. I see where I did not include cutting directions for the larger runner so I added another handout for that. You didn’t show us how to quilt a table runner. What a misleading title

Thanks for your comment - so sorry for for the confusion. I've changed the title to "Learn How To Make a Table Runner". When I make this runner, I usually just quilt in the ditch. Here's a link to a detailed series about making binding and then adding to the quilt. learnhowtoquilt.com/quilt-tutorials/finishing-the-quilt/double-fold-binding/ This table runner is a good learning tool for beginners. You get to practice some piecing methods/formulas on a small scale project before moving on to something larger. Thanks again commenting.
