I live in Australia but support with $$, a small school in Port au Prince Haiti that provides not only education but a regular daily meal to many poor children. As a gift for one donation I made the children made me a lovely necklace from rolled paper beads. As I don’t wear necklaces much, if ever, (they don’t know that) rather than let them sit un-used, I made a beaded curtain for a small window and incorporated their beads into it. Hands across the sea, I call it. 🙋🏻‍♀️🏝️🙋🏾‍♀️❤

The only word I could come up with is EXQUISITE!! thanks so much for sharing!!!! I've never heard of PC petrified. When you want a waterproof bead do you simply brush a coat of the petrified and continue to the 3 coats of triple thick?
@cookingjennfer
@cookingjennfer 8 ай бұрын
Thanks! I usually dip my beads. The PC Petrifier is liquidy. Dip once for a few seconds then let dry. Dip one or two more times for 30-60 seconds. And dry between dips. Then I coat them with water based glossy varnish if I want more gloss. You don’t have to do the PC though depending on what you’re using them for. I think that’s good for jewellery to make them water resistant but if you’re not concerned about that, then you can skip that step because the PC can become a little bit expensive.

@kukulidouce2014, @cookingjennnfer I’m just asking because you do explain what your doing with almost every step. While I appreciate the soft background music, some people may not understand all the steps as thoroughly just by watching. It would be really helpful to hearing impaired persons to have closed captions. Does KZfaq charge the creator a fee for closed captioning? If so could you possibly ask for donations from subscribers to pay the closed captioning costs.

I make paper beads to use in jewelry and have never had a problem with them being fragile. Once you paint and seal them they will last for years. I have beaded necklaces that were made by one of my aunts that are probably 80 years old and I still periodically wear them with my sun dresses. In the case of these and using them in ornamentation of any kind; these are no more fragile than hand made glass beads. With all the layers of paint, glue and varnish she uses these will be very sturdy much like real wooden spools or spindles.
