Ah, Brown Violet...every FoW painting book I had referenced it as such, and I could not find it in stock anywhere. Only later I found out that they renamed it...

Yeah, I had a similar hiccup too. I brought a Brown Violet on ebay and US Olive Drab rocked up ... it confused me at first lol 😆

AB Figures are superb. Shipping to the U.S. may be inhibitive. Colors that you chose prove excellent results. May I ask if you could zoom in more closely on the figure as you paint? Perhaps some straight leg British infantry for your next painting?

Thanks a lot buddy 🙌 with regards to US, I have a link in the video description of the US distributor 😉 I can't seem to zoom in much more without the focus going a bit all over the place. I might try to work on that for the important bits though. Hmmm I did have a plan to paint some normal LW British ... 😆

Great tutorial working on some great figures, as always. I'd like to see you tackle some 15mm Team Yankee stuff sometime? I'm thinking of getting some myself, so that's gotta have something to do with it :P

Right on! I did really like the French camo as well. Perhaps some infantry next? Say, Soviets? They're gonna be releasing hard plastic Americans and Soviets later this year, so that might be a good opportunity too, actually. Keep it up!!

That's awesome mate, be sure to show us how your PP miniatures turn out! I'd say to go with the basecoat - wash - layer - highlight. Skip the second layer 😁

@@paintingpanzers Cheers for clarifying! - I was wondering if basecoat - wash - re-basecoat and 2:1 highlight would work (and alternatively if skipping the 2:1 highlight and going straight to the 1:1 would give too harsh a result....)

@neilharrison9656 my pleasure buddy 👍 I'd honestly say that the 2:1 layer is probably overkill on 15mm and won't be that noticeable. I'd go straight to the highlight colour 😁

How did I find the article? I'm currently working on the new set of 1/144 US Airborne figures from Victrix and was looking for tips on finishing them where the Victrix are on the smaller side of the market.

Absolutely, those Victrix miniatures look great. I've worked with Victrix on a few videos in the past but I think that's come to an end now which is a shame. I'm almost certain that the paints used in this video will work fine with 12mm miniatures though!

Love this! I agree they look like the show. A lot. Great job. It wouldn't have been wrong though to have the uniforms Darker then on the show. For D-day the uniforms where treated with a chemical called CC-2 Chloramide. The treatment left the uniforms with a "darker filter" making them look a bit more "mucky-green-ish" and less "tan-ish". Sticking to your example Id do a filter of US Olive and a touch of umber as a filter wash. Its extremely hard to get period color photos of this however they are out there. Its surprising how swamp green the uniform looks with the chloramide it reminds me closer to US marine pacific uniforms-ish. Not and exact science this lol. This is for me a little like the Maroon berate vs the red berate a historical accuracy bug bear and has no reflection on your awesome work and beautiful finished models! For some odd reason your comment was blocked so I apologise for the long delay!! I really appreciate the kind words :D Thank you so much for the information, I really didn't know about the CC-2! Perhaps I'll try tackle them again trying to capture that but I do love how they came out. The colours used here really do make them pop on the tabletop!

@@paintingpanzers Well its also true that the troops hated the uniforms treated in CC-2 so some swapped into normal uniforms as soon as possible. Some also tossed their gas masks but kept the gas-mask bag as an extra utility bag. The thinking was if they didnt use gas to prevent the invasion the Nazis wont use it. So the non CC-2 has justification too.
