This is one of the best basic HTML course on the internet! Dave took me from nothing to building a basic HTML website in the span of just 2 days. I could understand him even after not being a native english speaker and the experience he has in this field truly speaks, he's a great coder and teacher aswell, thanks dave!

I began my coding journey with this video tutorial on 3/21/22. Waking up at 5am everyday to code for 2 hours before I go to work. I have learned so much from this video in the past 19 days taking it little by little. After completing this it just made me that much more motivated to dive further in. Thank you for making what I thought was impossible for me to do, very easy for me to understand.

Very, very informative. Dave covers a lot of code and shortcuts in a succinct style that most other coders don't cover. He articulates the lesson well, and his style of writing HTML seems very efficient. He provides a great little project that utilizes a lot of features as hands-on project development is the fastest way to learn any code.

This is straight up, the best tutorial for HTML on the entire internet. I have signed up for many Web development bootcamps online and paid a lot of money for it. Still, this content beats all the explanation given by other teachers online. I like the way how the entire videos is structured and how copious amount of information and knowledge is shared to slow learners like me. I would definitely recommend this video to anyone who wants to learn html from scratch. On top of it, thanks for making this valuable information free on KZfaq. Big Fan of your channel ❤.

I am old school back from 1993 to 2010 html coded websites (edu, friends and personal). I'm watching in Aug 2024. Retired (nursing admin) in 2010 and volunteered for non profit websites. Used a "builder" 2012- 2023, then attempted WP but frustrated with "blocks". Want to understand the backend. Started Daves CSS video and realized HTML refresher was needed. This video is so very insightful. HTML 5 is more layered then what I was doing 15 years ago. I'm now understanding how HTML and CSS work together. ❤ Plan to move on to his CSS and other webdev videos. My volunteering to update and maintain the websites for our local (small) non profits would not be possible for me without people like Dave.

Your teaching style is wonderful! I’ve started out with other courses (including those on Skillshare) and yours is, by far, the best. I like the speed you go and how you explain WHY you’re doing what you’re doing. I need that. Other instructors just say, “type this…” and “type that…” and I’m clueless as to the why. How could I possibly remember what, if I don’t know why? Anyhoo, I’m a few days into learning html5 and I feel like I’ll actually be able to stick with it because of your videos. (I tried learning XHTML years ago but gave up because I thought I just wasn’t smart enough) I now believe I AM smart enough and I plan to move on to other languages after I’m more confident in HTML and CSS. Thank you so much!

This is Amazing Content from amazing Channel, really tidied up everything that is in HTML. Just want to keep my notes here.. HTML Head = where the metas are kept (metas are information about the page that doesn't really shows on the page) Body = where our pages are kept Block Lvl Element = Elements that create a new space when used, e.g , , , Inline Lvl Element = Elements that won't create a new space, it's mainly used inside the block-lvl-elements, e.g , , html Entities = Key words || symbols that represented characters || symbols in the web-page that unrecognizable in the HTML format, e.g   < > Lists: Ordered Lists: + Unordered Lists: + Description Lists: + (description term) && (description detail) Links: Absolute Reference = contains a reference to a full address of a website Relative References = contains a reference to something in the same server Internal References || Anchor Link = contains a reference to a part on the same page Images: src attribute = to tell where to get the image file from alt attribute = to put assistive technology (when image is failed to load, web page will show the value you put in alt attribute) title attribute = text that can compliment our image, but it's not required (web page will show a tooltip when you hover the img) width & height attribute = it's recommended to provide the desired width n height to prevent Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) loading attribute = choose the loading images types: eager (default) or lazy (hence: lazy-load) figure element = to put the image inside a figure, can add directive to put caption for the image (better than using ). figure element can be applied not only for images, e.g: a example resources: - loremipsum.io "21 of best placeholder image generations" - unsplash.com - pexels.co, - gratisography.com - pixabay.com - irfanview.com - canva.com - tinypng.com Semantics: - (heading) general title of the whole page, should be only one per page. Multiple h2/h3/h4... is fine - (navigation) grouping of links to help us navigate through the page - (horizontal rules) means topic change - a new section of the page - header of the page, >1 - content of the page, =1 - footer of the page, >1 - "aria-label" labels for the element that's more than 1 per page - article of a topic. Different with = article should have a clearer topic than section - a sidebar / complementary text of the page - & create a detail about product etc, (in ui create a dropdown) - & provide meaning of time, marks, etc for technologies that can read this (theres no difference in ui)... check mdn for details - (divider) no semantic meaning, block-element - no semantic meaning, inline-element * avoid spamming div and span... use semantic tags first, then when you run out of those, you can use div and span Table: - Table's width expand according to the content - Table semantic elements: --> --> --> --> --> scope="col/row" Form: Texts -autocomplet="on/off" -type="tel" (for telephone, wont show arrow up/down like type number) -pattern="[0-9]{3}[0-9]{3}[0-9]{4}" -min,max,step Selects - -multiple,size -can use text with list & - + to make a boxed section -

Dave, I want to thank you sincerely for this tutorial. It cleared up a lot of issues I was confused about with HTML, especially concerning divs, articles and sections. I coded along with you as you taught how to create the "My Goals" pages, but I did the taco project entirely on on my own. I got it to work correctly, but when I then followed you code your solution, I learned even more. The proper usage of articles and sections became very evident. Plus your overall structuring approach is just what I needed to see. Thanks again!

Good day Dave, thank you so much for creating this awesome tutorial as well as the CSS Tutorials for Beginners! I am new to website design and find it very interesting. I really like that you teach how to write code that is structurally and semantically correct. This gives a good foundation on how to properly write professional code. You cover coding from the beginning to more advanced and you explain everything you do at a good pace and in a simple way, so that us newbies can follow and understand. I have learnt so much from your tutorials and although I won't remember everything immediately, I know what can be done and just need to keep on practicing to get better and more comfortable. I have subscribed to your channel! Thank you very much. Kind regards from South Africa

Thank you so much for this! It's crazy how much I've learnt. Dave covered a lot of essential and basic knowledge through out the tutorial and made it easy to follow. He took me from pretty much no knowlegde to understanding the general structure of html, furthermore semantic tags used to confuse me a lot, but after this they became much clearer to me! I had some trouble with the tables on the proyect, but I was able to do pretty much everything else alone. I really can't thank you enough, it had a huge impact on showing my boss a great improvement in html in just a matter of days :))
