In my Japanese book, the particle に is used instead if the particle を when using te ageru. These are 2 sentences from the book, the first using に, and the second using を: 1. Tanakasan wa Yamadasan *NI* eigo wo oshiete agemashita. 2. Watashiwa Yamadasan *WO* hoteru made annai shite agemashita. Why is NI used in the first sentence, but WO is used in the second one? Please, can someone help me?

I'm only at the beginning of learning Japanese myself, but I think it has something to do with the verbs. Certain verbs use certain particles, so basically if you learn verbs you have to learn which particles you have to use with them as well.
@strawberrymilksamurai
@strawberrymilksamurai 3 жыл бұрын
@@klaviergavin9936 no it's not that. What you're taling about is specific verbs (like のる which only uses に) but this is different. It's a grammar point about sentence construction. I've since understood it a litte bit, and it has to do with the object of the sentence, kinda like the difference between transitive and intransitive verbs

I’m kinda worried about him, I’m not trying to think the worse cases in scenario but it has been 8 years since he posted anything. I’m new to his KZfaq channel so I don’t know if he created a new one and has left this one or something else but really hope he is well.

I noticed every time you use the word agata, the word tomodachi is used after the ga, and everytime you use the word kureta, the tomadachi is befire the particle “ga”. Is there a reason for this?

this is soo complex besides, i don't understand the use of the particles. I've been told that the reciever of the action goes with NI, no, WO... also, i don't get why he uses GA instead of WA

Thanks so much for the great videos. I have a question: Are these two sentences equal in politeness? 先生 が 教えて くれました. 先生 に 教えて もらいました.
@KANJILink
@KANJILink 9 жыл бұрын
Otakurockleeさん, thank you for your message. These 2 sentences are equal in politeness. The only nuance is that with てもらう you might have asked for the explanation, whereas with てくれる the teacher might have explained something without you asking.

hi kanji link, thanks for the video. i got a question, can we say "wa" instead of "ga" in the sentence "tomodachi wa watashi wo matte kureta"? what would be the difference? thank you!
@KANJILink
@KANJILink 10 жыл бұрын
Taoさん、you can use WA instead of GA, but explaining the difference in a few lines is impossible (there are complete PhD theses on this topic!). To make it simple, if you use WA, the focus is on everything that is after WA. You were already talking about your friends, and somebody asked you what they did. On the other hand, with GA the focus is on what comes before GA. It would be the answer to the question "Who did wait for you?" (whereas with WA the question was "What did your friends do?"). I hope this helps! ^^
