Who am I?
I'm a passionate futures trader who caught the trading bug in 2020 and haven't looked back since. If you have searched KZfaq endlessly for a winning strategy, candle stick pattern, algo trading, trading psychology, smart money, bank money, and any other search term you came up with no luck....well you're in the right place! Hey Rob, another great video! I have been keeping up with all your videos, and kept a note of all of the trade setups in the order that you have mentioned them so far: * 2 trade setups in Oil. * 1 trade setup in Nasdaq. * 1 trade setup in Natural Gas. * 1 trade setup in Gold.. * 1 Nasdaq 8.35 trade setup. So 1 of the Oil trade setups is the Inside Bar strategy. The Gold trade setup is also the Inside Bar strategy. The Nasdaq trade setup is the Rob Reversal. Question 1 - what is the second Oil trade setup? Question 2 - what is the Natural Gas trade setup? Question 3 - what is the Nasdaq 8.35 trade setup? Thanks Rob.

Yes, this is a good constructive comment, I have been confused myself. I really hope that Rob answers this (please Rob, please). Rob has revealed 3 trade setups so far, which is great. I think the way that I would have asked those 3 questions above is, are these 3 other trade setups going to be revealed in the near future, which is actually what I think the commenter meant. Hey thanks for the comment... My morning oil trade is broken down into 2 session (so possibly 2 trades there), my GC trade is 1 session (so possibly 1 trade there), my 8:35am NQ and NG trade setups I have not made a video on yet. The only other trade setup I take is the 15 Min Rob Reversal on the NQ.

Hello Rob, I really like your approach of backtesting only for 60 days. I do also believe that markets change, so what worked a year ago, wouldn't necessarily work in today's market. And is really hard to see something that works consistently over the years. What I notice instead, is that there are periods when a setup works well and periods when the setup loses money. Can you please give more details regarding your backtesting approach (maybe create a video if that's easier)? What is the minimum number of trades you want to see in these 60 days? What are the steps you take, from a trading idea to a setup you actually trade? When do you stop trading an edge? Thank you!

I love the simplicity and will definitely try this out, Is the 5 minute TF the only one to use? Im usually executing trades on the 3 min.

I use the 5 min as in my back testing its filters out a few bad trades... It is also building up even more stored energy in the 5 min inside candle.. Hopefully this helps explain the reason why.

It really starting to click slowly but sure it's starting to make sense now. 1 question is I lived on the West Coast and it PST here and I like the Custom Session indictor you have highlighted for your timezone, could you share which indicator and how to set the proper setting so it's highlighted in PST time from NY pre session, current session, etc..please?

Hey Rob, I love your videos and really appreciate that you are putting all this out to us for free. I have a question about the first example of your strategy. You say that put a buy above the high and a sell below the low of the inside bar, in the first example, the candle after the inside bar wicked down which could have triggered the sell order but the market went in the other direction. So do you have wait for the candle after the inside bar to form for confirmation? Thank you very much

No once I am activated into a trade either long or short like getting wicked in then I set my TP and SL based on my conditions.. Hopefully the videos I post each day help you understand this setup.

I have the following questions: 1) How have you managed instances where volatile price action might trigger both your Buy and Sell entry? 2) You mentioned you trade Oil and Gold, do you place 1 trade per commodity or is it that you only take 1 setup whichever happens first? 3) Currently I am a profitable Forex trader but have often thought about learning futures trading. Have you ever tried this strategy on any forex pairs. Thanks again for your great work and for your willingness to share with the trading community.

Great questions, I have never had both orders execute as I place OCO (On Cancels Other) orders for my long and short. I will take each and every setup that fits my conditions and rules. So there are days I have 3 trades (1 in Gold and 2 in Oil) there are other days no setups show up. Thanks for the comments!

Rob, Thanks for sharing the strategies. As you are aware, the inside candle's range is so small and the 5 min ATR is 1.10. Have you experienced both long and short triggering simultaneously on one candle or two successive candles without triggering SL. How do you react to such situation (volatile condition)?

I trade with OCO (Order Cancels Other) orders for long and short so no I have never had that happen.

Are you putting a buy & sell simultaneously and then closing out the position that was going in the wrong direction when you see the 2nd candle close out? If that’s the case it’s not a true 1:1 if you’re taking a small loss on the other position too. Or am I completely reading this wrong lol. I’m a new trader and I really want to master gold futures and get on a prop firm soon. Thank you in advance.

How come in the video sometimes you put the entry on the inside candle and sometimes you place it after the inside candle. Which one is it?

The orders are entered as OCO so one cancels the other.

You are placing an OCO order long and short so once you are activated into a trade the other order cancels out. Thanks for the comment!

Make sure you looking at the current contract month in the date and the same instrument.

This strategy is no longer valid on Gold, backtested 21 days; only 7 winners with a 1/1 RRR. Also backtested CL 18 days with same requirements and only achieved a 50% winning ratio, on a 1/1 Ratio this strategy no longer is profitable with my testing.

Feb finished off gold +55 ticks and Oil -19 ticks, hard to base a strategy off 2-3 weeks of back testing but ultimately you need to trade what you have confidence in over the long run. Thanks for the comment!
