Learn Psalms 23 in Sign Language (Step by step instructions)

In today's video we learn How to sign Psalms 23 in Sign Language. This video provides step by step instructions, and explains each sign.
This video uses ASL signs but not ASL grammar. ASL signs using English grammar is often called Signed English, or English Sign Exact.

I thaank you a lot for this. in my Sunday school, I am not a teacher but I get regularly get invited to introduce the kids to new stuff. I am a pastor's son, and I decided to teach them this with this video.. and the kids learned this and during the farewell of a long time church member, the sunday school kids decided to do the sign language of psalms 23 on stage for all the church to see. it was a new thing that the people havent seen yet and i am here just to say.. THANK YOUUUUU. u have been useful for the lord and i think this is just the beginning. thank you and godbless you jehovah jireh

Thank you for your easy to follow sign language lessons. I taught deaf students for years and am an amateur at sign language . I find the 23rd Psalm so comforting so I wanted to learn to sign it which brings even more meaning to me. God bless you.

Thank you so much for this video. My daughter and I homeschool, and we stop for a 'praise break' at 10am. Such a joy to find other worshipers of the One, True God who have a heart of worship and who want to glorify him with sign language! Thanks again for letting God use you. I love re- learning sign again and you make it so easy. I had some college and did in high school. I want to learn the different words for worship song as to be able to sign in my church without looking like a tared. Thank you for your videos and I hope you continue making them. God bless you.

Thank you. My son is not deaf; however, sign language is a way to teach him new words. A long time ago I worked with some deaf people and since then I have wanted to learn more signs to be able to communicate with them. Also, I find that when I sign during worship time in church, it helps me concentrate on what I am saying to the Lord.

Thank you for this lesson. This is such a beautiful one to remember. I saw you teach worship music in asl signs and was hoping if you have the chance someday to do “Hey Girl” by Anne Wilson and “the only name” by big Daddy Weave. My daughter who just turned 8 loves Anne Wilson songs and that’s one of her favorites. My son who’s 6, will sing “the only name” at the top of his lungs anytime we play it. I would love to learn to sign those two song with them one day. God bless you for all that you are doing, you are an amazing teacher and me and my family are grateful for your efforts, as well as do many others.

Hey Christine, thanks for leaving such a great comment. As for your requests, Hey Girl doesn't really fit the criteria of songs I usually make tutorials for. I look for songs that are beginner to intermediate level that could be sung at church..... But the only name does fit that criteria....... I just don't know if I'll be able to keep it in my memory until we get home from our Florida adventures 😉😆☺️

Thank you for this! One thing - i'm not sure why you substituted rod and staff to word and spirit. That would be an incorrect translation of God's Word! As our shepherd, God lovingly uses His rod and staff to correct us and protect us.

I have a question. Why do you use the letter N sign for no instead of under the chin with your thumb and shake your head no? If anyone knows I'm just curious.

My is flat hand against chest. Not want is want upside down don't close your hands with the sign want. You don't do plant with pastures. You can do water then the sign for river. That sign is improve. Restore would look best as like fire coming up you're body. Righteousness is the R like holy then smooth it out. Sake you'd sign reason. Soul should come off your heart. Though should NOT be open fingers. That is the color grey. Shadow is Black + both pals rubbing each other in front of your face. And No evil, no would be None. You can also use you guide me Instead of staff and rod. And comfort is done differently. Yours looks like marshmallow. You need the sign for oil on your head with anoint. You left out "you prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies" which is 2 K hands on each other si.ilar to the sign. Right moving to the side, the sign. Table + before + me + in + here + my + opposite (for enemies). I learned from Dr Gerilee Gustason. Look her up. Yes, she advocated for SEE HOWEVER, I did not learn SEE from her. I learned ASL and PSE and after my first quarter was mistaken as deaf from advance DEAF ASL instructors (ASL 5, 6 and above) from colleges. Thats been over 14 years ago. I was a 4.0 student. I know what I'm doing.

@@pattycakes4922 yes I have. I've taught kids as well as adults and tutored. After my very first quarter, Gerilee asked me to tutor her classes as well as teach VBS. I learned ASL and PSE from Gerilee Gustason who helped develop the SEE method of Sign language. She passed away 3 yrs ago, shortly after my mom passed away. We were good friends. I was extremely blessed to learn from her. I then took ASL classes and was a 4.0 student except for 1 quarter which I was a 3.5 student bc I missed classes when my.mom got cancer and dad had a heart attack and I was in a car wreck. By the end of one classy Deaf instructor was asking me for signs. I'm a little rusty. But I've also interpreted, just interpreted for a deaf friend at her moms funeral. Interpreted at a few conferences and festivals, was mistaken as deaf by both hearing and deaf, including the ASL 6 Deaf instructor my 2nd quarter. Ironically I found out I have Relapsing Polychondritis and losing my hearing. So far just in one ear but I could completely lose it at any time. Sign language is such a beautiful language and it's so beautiful when used in church to worship. That's my favorite time to use it. A friend spoke over me that God was going to use me and use me to sign. And He has many times.
