Need to plot the normal/standard distribution curve. If memory serves correct 1SD = 67% of all results, 95% = 2 SD, 3SD = 97.7% of results

Mr. Jayson, now I grasp the point that variance is sort of misleading whereof the actual answer required is the standard deviation. But look at this: In this equation " s = E(xi-xbar)/N ", s and the bracket is squared. If I square it on both sides, I will have to square the denominator too, but in the actual formula, it is not. Please tell ne why is that so!
