This is absolutely brutal length wise. Props to them for being able to stick through all of that and stay engaged!

Yeah and most of it is super boring to play when you're that experienced.
@RishiJalukarАй бұрын
@@DeeboComing I don’t think boring is the right way to put it - sure these exercises may be considered “easy”, but at that level of skill they’re certainly still getting a ton of improvement out of those basics builders. Getting better doesn’t put you above “simple” exercises. There’s always more to learn in every aspect of drumming
@nismo29Ай бұрын
@@DeeboComingi mean, it still takes effort. these guys are subdividing in their head for 20 mins straight. one thought like “damn look at that car over there” could mess them up
@DeeboComingАй бұрын
@@nismo29 yeah but it's some of the most basic warmups for battery. This stuff is what I tell my 8th graders to play and work on with a met. At their level and with how long this is and considering the hundreds of times they've probably played all this even before they joined the group, it's gotta be super hard to concentrate and not get bored.

Zero mental errors for 17 minutes straight. Insane, well done.
@DeeboComing2 ай бұрын
Definitely were some errors in the very beginning with the 8th note timing stuff, but this helps build mental discipline to stay locked in for long periods of time. I might start adding this to my daily routine.
@npittman82Ай бұрын
the mental aspect/difficulty of this can't be underestimated. especially when there's so much space and similarity between phrases. this is 1000X harder than it looks.

Gonna be honest, after my injury and finger getting tendonitis. This has been one of the absolute best warm up sequences i've seen. It's been very helpful with regaining my strength again. Now the next step would be to mark time to it.

The fact they took the time to learn that and not even make one mistake in perfect synchrony. Wow that’s dedication.

This is an amazing exercise for the short intention span generation. Not only do they have to stay engaged but they have to subdivide in their heads so their brain is constantly working. I love this

If you’re gonna dog on others, at least don’t look dumb yourself… it’s “attention span” not “intention,” now we all know you don’t know what either means

@@shawnmcconnell2354 If this was true, why make a gross generalization that helps nobody? This does nothing but discredit the, presumably, younger musicians out there who may be interested. Breeding a toxic environment around DCI is a great way to choke off an already small community from growth. Rich could have just said “for those who struggle with a short attention span.”

Man this is forever!! Shout out to whoever put this together at Mandarins! Great transcription! And another video from Rbass! As a former marcher and continued instructor I would’ve shut it down when I saw some drummers relaxing more at the fulcrum then others. But obviously they know what they’re doing, and this during the season, and it’s a full run and we’re not cutting full runs lol. But yea just that close up had me like “CUT!!! I thought we were gonna all play the same technique?? Come on my friends, I know it’s a forever sequence but we defeating the purpose of we’re not gonna play the same technique. Yea we might get the notes right but we for sure not sounding the same playing all different. Let’s run it back, concentrate a little more and we got this! Met!!!” 😂😂😂
