i maybe try, but only have a Logitech G29, but at least i have the truebrake mod installed (the old one) - in my experience all the guys with direct drive wheels are instant 1-2 secs faster

The more hours I put in the sim, the more I realize how fundamentally important it is to steer as little as possible and mostly use trail braking and throttle control to rotate the car. Really enjoyed your video!!

As a guy who likes to drive all cars to their limit, weaving is something I do on every single out lap without exception just to have a feel for that car’s behavior on the steering. I guess it was contributing to my driving much more than I thought

Well it seems so obvious yeah but then again if your not doing it. then you miss out!

You know. I actually started doing this without a clear reason why. Now it makes sense. Superb channel my man. Thanks once again! 👍

Good video again! Funny thing is that I was having this exact problem at Pouhon but not at the fast corner at Paul Ricard. I had zero confidence at Pouhon. Trick that worked for me was increasing the gain settings in ACC from 60% to 73% for spa (all other tracks leaving at 60%). I'm on a Moza R9 with the pit house software all the way up to 100%. Will be trying the weawing to see what I can learn from that.

Every turn you mentioned involves a break point and entry. trail braking and slip angle into the turn removes a lot of wheel input and promotes a balanced entry.

I’m looking at a DD wheelbase as I have a T300 at the moment. Was considering the Moza R5 but also got the R9 on my radar. I think this video has probably convinced me an R9 would be the better bet long term.

i have R5 and you will get fast to its limit.
@marios38865 ай бұрын
Go for R9 if you have the budget, I had to make the same decision and I don't regret. Also, real GT3 cars are around 9-12Nm irl from what I've heard in a video some time back, so the immersion is there!

Hallo,i have t300 GT r is actually not a good wheel BASE ?

@@marios3886 Thanks I think R9 will be the one for me.
@ricwilki62545 ай бұрын
@@rafcuppers It's a good starter base . I like the T300 but I got it as I wasn't sure if I'd stick with on line racing, but I have and want to progress further with it. I'll keep it as a spare, just in case.

Great video, can't wait to try your idea out even though only on a G923. I had actually turned off dynamic damping in an effort to try and detect the rear end without saturating the ffb, may be going the wrong way with that as some high speed corners are my weakest 👍

Have a look hope it helps!

Amazing. Keep the video coming please ;) If you have idea to improve other types of corner like small chicanes (Zolder, Imola) or fast chicanes (imola t1 and 2,.... ) Probably a question of fine tunning inputs and finding trick to learn them as well.

Good video. I have Gotten Some Bad advice in the Past and now I'm learning away from it. Smooth is fast. I also agree with you about better Force feedback. I went from G27 to csl DD and I was immediately much more consistent because I actually Felt What the tires were doing. And I didn't understand Force feedback clipping until now that there is enough Force to feel the limit of the Wheel. I had to adjust my Force feedback settings lower so It won't clip In The Fast hard Corners
@SimracingArnout5 ай бұрын
Very good comment. this clipping is the worst.

Very great video! Top class explanation! Would you say that the more safe setups most of the times makes the car a bit slower? Because I rather chose a more aggressive setup but ofc it's much harder to keep the car balanced through corners and all. But I still don't want a too safe setup because it weights down the car more with more down force. So would you say that there are safer aggressive setups or is the only way just to learn to handle your steering input more smooth and controlled? Thanks for the vid! 😁
@SimracingArnout5 ай бұрын
Safe setups need more steering input. to get rotation. this is overall a bit slower, and more harsh on your front tires. that doesnt mean a safe setup cant be fast though, an agressive setup can also be very safe. it is a matter of wat YOU think is agressive hah. so you car will be overall faster if you can rotate your car with less steering input
@OgFx15 ай бұрын
@@SimracingArnout Yeeah makes sense! And exactly as you said. It's a definition of what YOU think. Every one has different styles and perceptions about setups. Idk but I see a lot of people go all maxed on the Caster for the car. I actually noticed to have a much lower Caster makes the steering input more rapid and responsive for corners which I like a lot! A higher Caster is nice but I like it low! It's fun to experiment when you start to understand all the components to a setup. I'm getting there slowly haha Thank you once again!😁🏁

The game/sim does not care if you use a dd or not its all about the inputs you as the human put into the game. i am at the same skill level with 8Nm to 4Nm high FFB = immersion
@PPekka5 ай бұрын
The game does not care, but your arms care. If all the information given to you is in the scale of 2,3Nm (Logitech G27) or 8Nm (Fana CSL DD) you feel much more details. I went from G27 to CSL DD and it was like night and day. The laptimes didnt go down instantly, but very quickly once I felt that I couldn't turn in the way I had been with the G27 because that usually caused too much front wheel slip.
@SimracingArnout5 ай бұрын
Exacly my point! Thanx
@cassiofreire66633 ай бұрын
Your skill level is the same on both bc youre an already skilled driver. Beginners suffer more from the lack of sensitiveness. Immersion = being faster in simracing. Maybe not for every driver, but as a rule... yes. Much easier to drive in a vr than it is in a notebook screen. Bc vr is more immersive. Thats exactly why simracers shock everyone with how fast they are when put into real cars and real drivers with low sim experience suck when they're put to drive in a game or sim.
