I’m for sure trying this! The most difficult part is getting both of the tapes to be at the exact same angle 📐 It’s so edgy and cool. Instant club ready. 😉

i always use painters tape which works amazing because its not harsh on ur skin. I have very hooded eyes so drawing eyeliner takes sooo much time, this is so much faster and looks alot better. Alot of people think i spend a hour on my make up while in reality its like 10 minutes

I have been trying out smokey eyeliners lately and I always struggle with two things: the black eyeshadow goes everywhere and covers the other colours even with my tiniest blending brush (Morphe M506); at the end you can't really see the eyeliner effect when my eyes are open, it just looks like it has been applied all over the lid because I have rather small eyelids. It's a gorgeous look though, I wish I could recreate it the same way it looks on you! 😍

A tip that has helped me is to use a thin liner brush tap once into the black and then into the darker color you were using. Place that very close to the lash line, then go back in with your blending brush, no extra product, and blend a bit. You can also not use black at all. You just chose a very dark color and a lighter version of the same color so that you get definition but the black doesn't take over. Hope that helps. 😊

I think if you have very hooded lids, the eyeshadow can transfer from the lash line onto the crease. I’m assuming this is what is happening? I’m wondering if you are using an eyeshadow primer? If so- are you setting it with a small amount of powder to set it? Also, I find that if I use a gel eyeliner (the Maybelline one is super cheap and very black!) and smudge it out along the tape line? This extra step works a lot better for me than black eyeshadow. Once it’s dry, it won’t transfer or budge! You can then use eyeshadow(s) over the top of it and those will also stay put so much better than with just the primer. ❤

Don’t go full force with the black. Rub off the majority on a tissue or your hand then it presses in the rest into the brush so not as much fallout

Or you can apply color theory, instead of black, you can use the darkest primary color of your choice, for example of this video instead of darken the purple with black, dark it with a deep blue. Also always try to do this kind of smokey effects on wide open eyes, or else it will change everything you put on
