@@yotricks i am facing the side throwing a front throw like normal just like you in the video lol then i whip the string under and try to land it close to my finger as you said but ye everytime it gets a tangle that makes it responsive until i take yoyo apart and undo it. Not sure how the yoyo can possibly be spinning the wrong way when your jst doing a front throw off to the side

@@GrandmasterHobbyist if that is not the problem then you are just catching the yoyo on the string too close to your hand, try catching it a little further out and see if that helps.

Totally unrelated to the video but, when I tried the bind you did at 0:37 , the string would wrap around the yoyo oddly and whenever I went to throw, the yoyo would come back up due to an extremely large tail from the bind. How would you get rid or minimize the tail?

Great videos. Noob question - What is the purpose of the break away before the second and third binds?
@yotricks
@yotricks Жыл бұрын
The breakaway causes the yoyo to spin in the opposite direction. The direction of spin is crucial to how binds work, so for certain binds you should use a normal throw, for others a breakaway.
@guest21984
@guest21984 Жыл бұрын
@@yotricks Thanks. Isnt it just relative to which way you face? e.g theow a breakaway side on and turn left, yoyo will be spinning forwards, turn right and it'll be spinning backwards. I bought a yoyo the other day and it's interesting comparing tricks and movement to poi - as i've been an lower intermediate at poi for years. Spin forward, they go fordward, turn 180 degrees then spin backwards. It didnt take me long to learn the 3 beat weave, but turning and doing it in reverse certainly did! I expect it's the same for yoyo in that you need to learn forward and backward yoyo spinning moves to be able to link tricks and successfully bind. I'm currently attempting to get my throws stright and can bind ok with it a forward spin, but backwards spin bind im still to learn the catch as it comes up and over my hand. I'll get there!
@yotricks
@yotricks Жыл бұрын
You are correct about the direction of spin. However, in yoyoing you rarely rotate your body around the yoyo so usually describing the breakaway as spinning the opposite direction to a normal throw makes sense.

@@yotricks Interesting, thanks again. I have a lot to learn and have already seen tricks in some yoyo videos what I call 'isolations' - rotating your hand around the yoyo or just using its momentum to make it look isolated and motionless. Hopefully some of my previous skills come in useful.

Well the second and the third bind is basically the same bind but for the second one the yoyo is doing most of the motion while for the third one your hand is doing most of the motion. But actually its the exact same bind/principle. Pause at early 00:21 and early 00:27 . Could you tell which is which? ;)

Does the long string make it easier?
@yotricks
@yotricks 7 жыл бұрын
A string that is too short will make it more difficult... but having a string that is especially long will not make these tricks easier.

Im playing yoyo using left hand, why only breakaway works for my first lacerations only?
@yotricks
@yotricks 4 жыл бұрын
It does not matter if you are playing left or right handed. All the binds are setup the same. If you are not able to hit the bind, and you are throwing it the way we describe, then most likely you are not getting enough of the string into the gap of the yoyo.

Is the dinging sound I keep hearing the sound of the string hitting the yoyo? Also why did you use the Canon for this? Wouldn't the Sage be just as good?
@yotricks
@yotricks 7 жыл бұрын
For these tricks the Sage would be as good, but we also wanted a yoyo that we could use for grind-type binds, so a metal yoyo was a better option for this series of tutorials. I believe the string hitting the yoyo is what causes the sound.

@yotricks
@yotricks 4 жыл бұрын
No, a responsive yoyo will just come back up when you pull it towards yourself. It will wind up before you have a chance to bind.

I can only get the laceration bind throwing a break away, and I can only land it on the string by doing rhe opposite. I'm not lefty, so then why is this?
@yotricks
@yotricks 7 жыл бұрын
This trick works the same for right and left-handed players. My guess is that you find it easier to land it on the string if the yoyo is coming from the other direction, which is fine. Also, when you do it that way you will need the yoyo to spin the opposite direction, which is why the Breakaway works better for you.

So question, in the other more advanced tutorials you use a civility or atlas, so why the canon?
@yotricks
@yotricks 8 жыл бұрын
Since both the Civility and Atlas are out of stock we decided to feature the Canon in our bind videos. Besides that, the gap on the Canon is a little tighter than most yoyos (because it is designed for 5a), which makes it one of the best yoyos for learning binds. yoyotricks.com/yoyo-store/yoyo-brands/yotricks/canon-yoyo/
