Really though, I'm sure it is very easy to fly. But flying it effectively for a mission is what takes the extra 549 days. Lol. It's kind of like picking up a knife. Super easy! Fighting with it, not so easy. Also if you don't put the knife down just right you die 😂

There's a bit more to in in the real aircraft... as in, years and years of training :) I'm also sure that DCS leaves out anything that's classified. To start completely from cold, the real aircraft probably requires a security code that's set by the ground crew and is given only to the pilot when he climbs in. If it does, you're not going to see it in an entertainment sim :)
@joshhead9368
@joshhead9368 5 жыл бұрын
@@devilsoffspring5519 there is a code created daily for each aircraft that comes directly from the prime ministers office. If inputted incorrectly too many times the aircraft will go into a limp mode rendering it useless until an AVS technician recomputes the mil spectrometer. A new code must then be entered.

Finnish Air Force has been taken lots of trophys in airshows. For example Capt. Ville Uggeldahl 2015 in RIAT airshow and latest Capt. Lauri Mäkinen in RIAT 2018 airshow. This pilot is just outstanding!

The CF18 is what we normally use. The CF188 is the official term which we use in our LogBooks and other external documents. Amongst Fighter Pilot, we will use F18 or Hornet. A-C-E models are all single seater. The B-D-F are all dual seater. The Canadian Forces have the A & B models which have received extensive upgrades to avionics. The E-F models are a different aircraft all together and much much larger. Hom

The planes are old but at least they’ve been upgraded with newer avionics and color MFDs. The big thing that was missing was a modern radar but half of the fleet is slated to receive new AESA radars. Plus there is also a buy of the latest AIM-9X Blk 2 Sidewinder missiles which will further increase the lethality of the Hornet.

Here in the UK it makes the newspapers and sometimes the news channels, they dont fly right into the airspace but they buzz it just staying outside and no more, this requires the RAF to scramble to escort them away. However there have been incidents in Canada when they fly right into their airspace.

You're right for the most part. The Hornet has both 1 and 2 seaters; F/A-18C is a single, the F/A-18D is a double...Same for the Super Hornets; F/A-18E is a single, the F/A-18F is a double. Most of the two-seat aircraft are for training purposes, but it's really not limited from anything to my knowledge. Beautiful Aircraft!

@dakotahansley2059
@dakotahansley2059 9 жыл бұрын
350mph to 400mph. Technically the speed of sound in 761mph give or take. It all depends on the conditions from altitude, barometric pressure, so on and so on. Aircraft cannot break the sound barrier at airshows do to FAA restrictions. During high speed passes, they normally fly 600-650mph.

Haha, yes. once you get to know them it's really simple. The buttons are usually grouped in categories, so it's easier to remember as you keep doing it. I mean the F16 for example has a much more complex cockpit than the F18, which adds to the overall workload that the pilot has to go through during complex maneuvers. Which is exactly what they are trying to avoid nowadays with new fighters.

Dear Cinnabun. As far as your initial explanation of a machine that converts one form of energy into a mechanical energy, it is correct but this basic explanation stems from the early days of technology. Look up EA-F18 Growler fighter jet. I think that is what we need more than the F-35. They are planning of totally redesigning it because of the helmet cables and the glitches for the new hud. They have a huge blindspot behind them and where do guns face on an a/c... they will get shoot down in a dogfight as soon as the enemy is behind. It is a great aircraft, but for short term, look for alternatives is my opinion :)

Scenario: In movies sometimes we see and ear a pilot that has been hocked / locked by another pilot which is going to fire. Questions: Is it a real air fight technology or it is just cinema fx? How is it possible for a pilot to say that another aircraft has locked own plain for certain? How does it work the technology that allows to do that (if any)? Thanks in advance.
@CaptinPelley
@CaptinPelley Жыл бұрын
Radars can do multiple kinds of locks when they see a target so that is all true (although in the movies its rather unrealistic but it gets the basics kinda) Modern aircraft can tell when a radar is "locking" them by means of a RWR (radar warning receiver) which identifies direction of the radar, type of radar/aircraft (different radars on different aircraft which produce different signals), and emission strength (distance) so the computer can generate a relatively clear picture of aircraft around if it picks up radar signals. They work via many small antennas on the exterior of the aircraft which receive the signals. Most modern day aircraft dont "lock" anymore but use a soft track when they launch missiles so the enemies RWR doesn't pick up anything more than regular radar signals. Only when the missile goes pitbull (when the internal radar of the missile goes active for its own guidance) will the enemy aircraft get a lock warning and will identify it as a missile. Older aircraft used missiles without internal radars so they had to keep a hard lock which would give the enemy pilot a lock warning when the missile was launched.
