I thought I commented previously about my having figured out a bezel variation so one could use an 8mm rivoli in replace of the chaton at the bottom of these beautiful earrings. I guess not though, or maybe I held off because I hadn't gathered all the supplies I needed yet. Swarovski can be so expensive but I quickly learned that there's no substitution that meets the quality of the 2mm pearls. Anyway, I thought I'd offer to share my variation of anyone cares to know. As always, thank you for taking the extra time necessary to make us a video tutorial. I know you didn't have to do so but it's so very much appreciated.

You are so doggone clever! Can't say how many loops I've made for earrings, pendants, whatever. The simple act of using different color and size beads gives it a whole different look. And your color choices overall are just splendid! Thank you!

Check out Odin's video for the "Aura crystal" channel, it is much easier for me and lays nicer, for my klutzy fingers!... Good luck .. Have to say ,When I tried this Eureka method (which most people do) , I screwed it up about 5 times, but when I did it from Odin's method it worked beautifully, the first time!, So I started it, from Odin's tutorial, then after that first bit, the rest is the same on most of the channels. Have fun!

Yeah, unfortunately practice is the main key but also finding the thread that works best for you can be helpful. There are different techniques that some prefer also but you'll have to pick those up from there various videos you watch. I've come to learn we each develop our own niches over time. You'll get it

I have been trying to finagle it but it's been tough - the pointed backs of the chatons are too deep a "v" to fit into a standard cup-post setting :-( .....haven't given up yet, though!! :-)

Love the earrings. Great tutorial. I have 12 mm rivolis and I use 11 delicas what would I use as my starting count so It would fit as beautiful as yours. Thanks for your time
@leahwyckoff3402
@leahwyckoff3402 5 жыл бұрын
A 12mm rivoli would use a starting count of 30 delicas, instead of the 36 that I used. :-)

We're always working on perfecting our filming technique - the feedback is always appreciated. :-) My only concern with zooming in further (as opposed to me bringing the item up for closeups) is that it's much easier for my hands to leave the camera frame so fixing one issues could cause some more.... But we're working on it! :-)

I thoroughly k bed watching this and had never heard of a Charan before, can you do this bezel on a crystal?.... I could not see the Charan too clearly but it looked like it is flat on top?...thanks again!
@EurekaCrystalBeads
@EurekaCrystalBeads 5 жыл бұрын
Hi Kat, the bezel I did around the 8mm Chaton Crystal is exact to that size/shape - it could be modified to work on other chatons perhaps, but wouldn't work on a different shaped crystal exactly how it is here. Feel free to play with it and let me know! :-) And yes, the Chatons are pointing on the back and have a flat table on the top. :-) -Leah Come join the fun! Love your designs....however, what’s the difference between miyuki delica and toho cylinder??? Is it only in price difference, or is there more to it? They look fairly similar though ;)
@EurekaCrystalBeads
@EurekaCrystalBeads 5 жыл бұрын
Hello! So for Cylinder Beads....Miyuki has the Delica and Toho has both the Treasure and the Aiko - the latter being their premium cylinder bead - and the one considered the direct competition of the Delica. So, more or less, the Delica and the Aiko are the same size. Take the count needed for a cylinder bead around the 14mm rivoli I used - I used 36 Aikos...but 36 is also the number called for when using a Delica. There is a price difference, yes. It's thought that while the Delicas are WONDERFULLY uniform and precise....the Aiko's are just that little bit better (more precise)... I always recommend people try out both to see if they personally find a significant difference to make them favor one over the other. Honestly, I love the quality of both equally - so my decision is usually based on which color I want to use, and not to much the brand. :-) Hope that's helpful. -Leah Come join the fun! Hi Leah. Me again 😊. I have a question....using your design how many delicas would I need for a 14mm rivioli? Thanks so much for your help!!
@marycheney8313
@marycheney8313 5 жыл бұрын
I did a little homework of my own but can't provide an absolute number (sorry) other than you may need a few more (I presume you have Miyuki's), but make it an even number. Miyuki 11/0 cylinder seed beads (DB) are 1.6mm in diameter with a 0.8 hole size Miyuki 10/0 cylinder seed beads (DBM) are 2.2mm in diameter with a 1.0 hole size Toho Aiko is 1.75mm in Diameter (similar to 10.5/0). They have a larger hole size of 0.9 None of them provided the length so I presume diameter is the deciding factor. Start with 38 or 40 and see if that works?
@meloneebeal1060

Hi Mary. Thank you so much for doing the research to answer my question to Leah. I do have Miyuki's..... I was thinking around the same number you calculated. I will play with the numbers to see what works. Thanks again so much!!! You are very kind and giving!! 😇 Happy Beading!!

He Melonee! The Aiko's will run the same as Delicas...so for the 14mm Rivoli size, use 36. :-) -Leah Come join the fun! The Beader's Nook at Eureka Crystal Beads facebook.com/groups/319085948930672/
