I have trouble doing the first half-pipe cut while grabbing two coins, let alone the ending half-pipe. Very useful setup for the double gap cut 👍

It’s so funny to me to hear how much you hate this one, because I love it! But I think it’s because most of the time I’m just playing for fun, taking a completely different approach than if I were trying to get the best time. I learn so much from your videos, though - appreciate how much time and effort you put into them!!

The consensus in my family was this was the most fun course in the new set. Little did he know, that speed runners were annoyed as all heck with it. 😅

6:39 I did not authorize the publication of every online race I've played on this course. (The first time I was confused, the second time I was amused, and the other 300 times I've been grumpy. I still kinda love this broken course, though.)

I can imagine that after people complained about 3DS RR in Wave 3 not having the shortcuts that the original had, Nintendo was like "Okay, you want shortcuts and you want to not be blocked off by lakitu, here you go. You asked for it." I liked that these shortcuts weren't taken out (which is why I wasn't that much of a 3DS RR fan). But yeah, saying that it's not the most consistent thing ever is an understatement.

"this sh🪙 just straight up doesn't work" is the best description of the track in execution, it's amazing how messy it ended up, but i saw it coming from a long distance away - just think about it, tour model + 8dx physics _x DK Summit???_ it's a recipe for disaster!

Half pipes are chaotic systems confirmed.

A personal goal of mine is to get within 10 seconds of world records. I usually think it's a modest goal. When this track came out last year, even with this video's help, I gave up because I wasn't CLOSE to achieving that. I just simply wasn't good enough. I gave up and spent the past year redoing all my other pb's to get them up to date (aka doing them with Daisy/Teddybuggy and the like instead of Waluigi/Biddybuggy lol). A few weeks ago I finally finished doing that, so I had to buckle down and face this track. My pb last year was 2:21.115, and today I got it down to 2:05.166, which is just within 10 seconds of the current record. Can finally move on to Yoshi's Island 😁

I'm with you. This track is pure jank.

The double shortcut is really hard for me to pull off, so I just do the single cut where I break drift to build a ultra mini-turbo and trick off the second half-pipe.

I gotta say, watching your videos are way more relaxing in the rare case that I've already beaten the ghost, haha. This level was fun in that if you reliably mastered the shortcut at the top of the pipe, OR the double shortcut, OR the bottom of the pipe, you can beat the ghost. Or, if you get all three in the first lap you can just drive clean and get it done.

This is my 2nd favorite track in the game I think you're insane the double gap is fun and sooo satisfying

There's one thing this course is good for: becoming my "most played track" in the stats after trying to get everything right for the 100000th time Side note I find this track fun still but that might also be because I don't get mad at this game, instead I save the madge for another game I used to play but don't anymore

This is the only Mario Kart track in Deluxe that makes me feel like I don't know how to play this game.

I have karted myself so many times on this track ... with that shortcut in the middle of the track as well as the half pipe physics sending me back in the opposite direction.

Thanks for taking the time to cover them, even DK Summit which seems to have been painstaking. "...the most awful 10 seconds of any track in the entire game." This phrase was true up until Wave 5 dropped. Then Los Angeles Laps got added. Pick 10 seconds, *ANY* 10 seconds, from L.A., and I would rather go through the 10 seconds here. When the glider section is the part of the course that comes closest to being fun, the course is not fun in the slightest. When taking the gap cut here, regardless of being successful at clearing it, this is an issue that this course shares with L.A., and at least L.A.'s glider section isn't 50 million years long (I exaggerate, of course, but that's kind of the point). However, when playing casually and simply not taking the gap cut, the section that the gap cut normally skips is actually a lot of fun, so at least there's that for this otherwise 100% jank course, which is more of a positive than I have for L.A. I suppose the closest thing I have to a positive thought on this course as a whole is "at least it's better than L.A." If I'm being 100% honest, I'm probably not going to bother with learning a setup for a cut that skips the one fun part of each lap. I'm only commenting in the hopes that, even though this is an 8-month old video, the comment will still find a way to help you with the algorithm.

What?I love this track the airhops put you infront of the others i can pull of the halfpipe strategies consistently and the double cut even in the fast way is fun imo the turnskip too

I personally love this course. It really feels like a “skill course” to me. The only part that feels like you don’t really have too much control over, for me, is the snow bumps section before the double cut. But, that’s just me. I can appreciate that others might not think this way, and considering you think differently of this course, yet were still able to put this video together with details on all the strats in this much detail? Major respect my man. Thanks for this. I hope more people see how to do these things.

Thanks Bayesic, this was a really really really needed guide, yes the track is really the most random of the whole booster pass but I still like it, it's like you need to learn it and you need to learn how to improvise too, because playing it online will definitely make you do things even more random. Now a small request, can you make something to explain better the air jump? I don't seem to get it and the cart doesn't adjust 😢

I'm not looking forward to running this track either, I don't get how to drive on the half-pipes. It's a shame considering it was one of the more impressive courses in MKWii.

I went back to mkwii and played this track and the halfpipe physics or just Wii's physics in general are better for Dk Summit.

Definitely one of my favs from mario kart wii and I definitely remember the moguls and halfpipes being very janky there as well. Also, I'm just not feeling the music, too simplistic compared to the original for my liking.

Look, I know I have said this before, but to me, DLC is REALLY underwhelming. I always appreciate all the work you put in to your videos, trying to help us, but since DLC (that I had eagerly anticipated) had actually come out, I found myself rarely coming here anymore. I absolutely HATE this track to the point I kill the lobby if I have to play it. There is not a single DLC track I love. There are a few I somewhat enjoy, but none of them are better than most of the regular tracks. Unless it's Dolphin Shoals, Bone Dry Dunes, Toad Circuit, Music Park, Dry Dry Desert, or Excite Bike Arena, I don't vote for any DLC track and again, there is only a handful that I don't mind playing on to begin with. It's great to see Bayesic Trainers now, not just the trainees. How does one graduate to that? P.S. Still struggling with the shortcut I want to pull off consistently most: @#$%^%$ Dragon Driftway :(

Why did it get renamed to dks snowboard cross

The half pipe physics in this game are completely broken, so I don't really enjoy any track in the game with half pipes. It's especially dumb to make a track with a curving half pipe, making it a requirement for everyone to be subjected to the ridiculous spectacle of watching their character suddenly apply their invisible booster jets and wildly change their trajectory mid-air.

At least the music is kinda cool…

This course bums me out. It's really fun to play with my kids but is so annoying online since i haven't spent enough time to get the shortcuts consistently.

DK Summit isn't a race track. It's a snowboarding arena. Quite literally. Yet again, it came from the game that wanted to be more like the X Games than NASCAR or Formula One, so what did you expect? Lol.

Its all the nintendo fanboys the reason this track is on the booster class🤷🏻‍♂️. I hate this track. So many other wii tracks that could of taking its place.

ngl i completely disagree with your opinion on the course, its not as inconsistent as you put it imo there are very consistent strategies in this track.
