To enter the competition, you need to create a video that uses the provided #Unreal Engine 5 #ue5 Template here: we.tl/t-aFORS6dVfr

4k resolution of 3840 x 2160
Framerate: 24 FPS
File Format: MP4

Clean video only
Created using Unreal Engine as your main render. Post tools like Nuke & After Effects are permitted.
You may use premade assets but please give credit to your sources.

awesome contest, the only possible issue I see here is with the 4k export, that'll require a lot of computer power, honestly I may end up rendering 1080p and convert it into a 4k video file just so I don't burn my PC lmao

If you can't do 4k then 1080 is fine but I've used my laptop to do 4k 60fps and it's been able to handle it as well

@@JonathanWinbush now that I concluded the project, I must say that I'm amazed how fast UE5 is able to render 4K, I had some simpler 2D stuff taking longer to render in After Effects! ahah

I'm glad i caught this in time. No idea why i missed it considering i got notifications. Got some time still to enter. Good luck all. The 4k could be a bit of a struggle for my PC but could also be a great optimising lesson.

that'd be great but I don't think EJ is an avid Unreal user since they're featuring WinBush both in this challenge and on School of Motion's chanel for Unreal related content

@@gusmaiawork I definitely am not qualified for a beginner Unreal course but @winbush definitely is! He already has a beginner Unreal course (albiet it done in UE4 on Mograph.com! Maybe I'll try to get him to do another one for SOM :)

Metahuman and the price of free lured me over to Unreal this winter but years and years of C4D usage have stalled me from going very far in UE5 as it great at certain things but I don't think it is currently ready to take me 100% away from C4D... maybe in a few years... Powerful software for sure but I don't think professionally it can be my stand alone 3D software... I'd def like to continue learning it though as I said earlier, no subscription cost helps me not feel obliged to rush it...

I agree with you about the stand-alone nature of Unreal and how it isn't there yet. The asset creation aspect is lacking so you'll need to depend on bringing assets in from other apps - hopeing it gets there someday and that C4D and Unreal integration can get even better! Unfortunately its one of the few wyas to get real time!

A few questions: Are we allowed to alter the size of the pug statue? What about the ground plane? Any restrictions on the usage of e.g. lumen etc.? Thank you all for this contest! :)

You have free reign to be creative but we just ask at least keep the statue in place and the camera move the same so we can splice all the entries together in the end
