hi you can use any paints..I would always suggest if you are learning then go with art and craft level cheaper paints....I am using folk art and Martha Stewart brands....

i am using acrylic paint, plaid brand flat brushes and drawing paper these are the most important materials....

I know this is and old video and you won’t seen this comment but I just couldn’t figure out one stroke leaves and for four days I have done nothing but try and fail to get it just right. I don’t know what it is but you explained this in a way that just clicked. I am making everyone in my house look at my leaves 😂

For such art acrylic is the only choice , oil paint mostly used for traditional types of painting

I don’t know , that floating medium is like extender that slow down the process of drying . My experience is if you are using enamel then it work without floating medium

That’s acrylic dear it’s nature, you can add water little bit but you have to deal with this problem if you are working with acrylic or use extender

For me plaid brushes works best with one stroke , I don’t know why but that’s my experience may be they are socially made for it so thin and longer

I'm so frustrated. My simple five petal flowers are coming along alright but I can't seem to get my point right on the simple leaves. They're the small ones she recommends starting with. What am I doing wrong? How do you know when you pull up to get a perfect point? I'm using the same paints too and they don't seem to have the same amount of coverage.

@@artpassion It was my movements. I was missing how to finish it to that nice point. I took a tiny break and then started again and it was like poof! Leaves! Lol. Thank you for making the video. It's good to be able to watch different people because different people explain different and you catch things that you didn't before.

+Viral Parmar I think gel medium does not increase the drying time for acrylic the way floating medium does and here we need acrylic to slow dry so we can have smooth stroke . I am saying from my experience I am no where expert so not very sure though
