As the mother of a 13-year-old trans son, I am so grateful for everyone that continues to advocate for our children. Love is the answer!

I may not know anyone personally going through this, but my heart goes out to them and I know for a fact no harm can come from me knowing more and being more prepared to receive anyone that comes out _to me_ with open arms. I have a disability, which even with it being a different situation, I remember how thankful I was when people recognized my differences and, instead of ostracizing me for them, went "okay, how can we work with you so you can do school, get a job, and just generally participate in society with the others?" That's what I wanted, and so of course I want that for others.

This is SO beautiful. The Trevor Project is an incredible organization. I can't wait to share this with everyone I know. Keep them coming!

Thank you for producing this beautiful series and for all of the amazing crisis counselors who are there to love these precious children who deserve everything good, even when things are not going well in their lives. When a trans child has one supportive adult in their life, it lowers their risk of suicide by 45%. Open your heart. Open your mind. Love deeply and without condition.💖

From being against, to ambivalence, to acceptance, to alliance is a journey for the LGBTQ+ community and their families and friends. I think overcoming self hatred is difficult for many kids, regardless of gender identity; twice as difficult when the people who are supposed to care (Parents, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, church families) add to the already difficult time of self discovery and self esteem, self identification and moral compass development. Societal progress is slow, jerky, and frustrating; but seems to be heading in the right direction overall in the last two decades.

This has been such a delight to see and hear and experience! I am a proud mother of a trans son who, like Kaiden, initially came out to be lesbian, but eventually trans. I always knew he was a male, authentically, from a very young age. When he told me his truth, I wasn't shocked so much as happy that he knew his true self. As his mother, I was honored that he felt he could confide in me about his truth. But, I have learned through discussions with my son that acceptance for trans youth is often not the case with so many trans people. My heart breaks to know that, as you have pointed out, "Fewer than 1 in 3 transgender and nonbinary youth found their home to be gender-affirming," in addition to the other shocking statistics that you have included in this very educational and loving video. My hope is that more people who are uneducated about transgender and nonbinary people will truly learn the truths that this video holds and that they might walk away with at least a positive understanding of where people who identify as such are coming from. If you are reading this, regardless of your gender identity or sexual orientation, you are loved and validated by me and many more people for being your true self. We are all so much more than the mere physical bodies that we are born with. We are spirit, and spirit has no gender. It is simply spirit. It is love. Love one another! k

This was really cute!! Thanks Trevor Project, as a non binary person this means a lot. I would like to add however: it’s okay to not always know that you’re trans. Gender is a fluid thing that can change as you do, & it’s okay to question it. This doesn’t mean it’s just a phase, & just because you question the gender you thought you were a second ago doesn’t mean you’re suddenly cis. You could think that you’re actually a man & you were AFAB, but then you realize you’re nonbinary, or maybe the other way around. There are people who are gender fluid, & their genders can change frequently. Gender is less of a stagnant thing about you & more like a journey, with twists & turns on the path you take. Just because gender is more fluid doesn’t mean you you shouldn’t support trans & nonbinary people, obviously, but it does mean that it’s okay to question yourself, whether you’re cis, trans, or neither somehow. It’s okay not to know how you feel all the time.

The Trevor Project makes a vital difference in the lives of so many. I am heartened to see the families' journeys, and I applaud each family for moving past ignorance to knowledge and understanding. This has allowed them to embrace their children and grandchildren and love them for who they are.

This production was so touching and beautiful. Thank you to the Trevor Project and the wonderful human beings (Kaiden, Skyler and family, and Lyndon) willing to share their stories. Trevor Project thank you for the continuous support of the LGBTQ+ Community! You all do such incredible and necessary work in educating people, providing a safe space for those in the LGBTQ+ Community to get the support they need, and help protect and provide the LGBTQ+ Community with a voice through the various volunteer work, partnerships and opportunities where people can become allies and show support for the LGBTQ+ Community. You all are doing amazing work by sharing these types of stories. Sharing these stories with the world is amazing and so important as it helps so much to build awareness and educate people given the trying times we are in. It just makes me angry that Kayden had to attempt suicide for his family to start taking his pain seriously. I had the exact same thing happen to me in terms of going to the hospital due to having a mental breakdown and even afterwards my family still did not understand my mental health challenges. If your child is cutting it’s clear that there is pain there, it’s mind boggling to me how some people just don’t care enough to learn, support and have compassion.

Why did the grandpa feel ostracized? He was the one who had ostracized his granddaughter. That’s so angering and makes no sense. Also when have these things ever been a phase? Where does that generation get that idea from. And why did it take the Trevor project to get them together? He had the agency to meet up, but chose not to and that’s his fault. I just don’t get it.

Sorry, I couldn't listen to this. There was some music going on. I jumped forward a few times - but it was always there. I image it was there to nudge my sympathy - it prompted me to stop listening instead.

This comment is not about the content, but about the presentatiion. I was interested, and I found the speakers engaging. Yet I shut off the program halfway through because that plinky-plunk background "music" was just too irritating. Please, folks, when you have a worthwhile message, TALK to us, in words. Don't try to manipulate us with irrelevant, extraneous sounds. Thanks.
