The most important part for me in this chapter is only use friends of 10 if the 5 bead is used. I've been studying abacus on other apps but they missed this part so I was able to solve problems but I'm also confused when to use friends of 10. This answered my question that hinders me from understanding abacus.

Here in this calculation 9 + 1 is a combination of 10's compliments and the next 1 + 4 is a compound is a combination of 5's compliments.... Watch again and try....
