I have yet to find another video showing this step. I have never worked with these type of boxes and it's nice to see how other people mount their stuff and what screws to use , and just stuff like that. Thanks i appreciate your videos!

Could you do a build with two power supplies? I’ve seen conflicting opinions on tying grounds, etc.

Yep, check the manual for whatever controller you're using for anything you need to pay attention to, but as long as they are the same voltage, it's generally just fine. Some controllers will allow you to use different voltages on each side (be careful!)

Question about the power supply and the CG1500. The 350 watt power supplies have a fan on them but the CG1500 is obviously air restricted due to it being weather proof. Is heat an issue you generally have to deal with?

No, they generally are fine, even in hot climates. Worst case, the mean well will shut down to cool if it overheats, so test it, and if you run into overheating, then you need vents. But the cg1500's are thin enough that heat transfer happens ...plus there are holes in the bottom

I like the genius pixel controllers, they got auto resetting fuses so you don't need to replace any fuses incase of a mistake

hi david i want to add a power supply to my controller for port 9 to 16 i dont know if my 350 watt power supply could handle 2000 pixels at 30 percent brightness if i calculate 2000 x0.3w x0.3 brightness =180 watts is that right so i would have enough with the 350 watt power supply thank you

Do you have a link to those xconnect cables and the size? Last bunch I got were to short and the ones you have are nice and long.

How many lights could you power off that one power supply, is the power supply capable of running all 16 outputs.

A single, 350w 12v power supply at can do around 900 pixels at 50% brightness. It can be all 16 outputs, but more likely you do dual power supplies or more. For more, check out our full, A to Z course available inside the Academy here: academy.learnchristmaslighting.com/lcl-academy-DT
