U wanna learn french ? U really wanna learn french ? Learn french with a french dude from Paris, France. I'm not a real teacher, I do my best to provide basics... for better results, you should watch each video ( at least ) twice. No pain no gain.

Amazing, 4 languages he speaks in this film. Granted, his Italian lines were learnt, but his ability to inhabit not only the languages, but their cadences is incredible

As a French Canadian (as you can see from my name), I can confirm that I can barely detect any sign that he's German from his French. Granted it may be more challenging for me as I speak a Quebec dialect of French and someone from France would say I have an accent.

I love how the dialogues have been crafted in perfect French. Even better a couple of times, Landa uses quite formal but witty speech. This contrasts with Shosanna who speaks directly to the point in short phrases, conveying the stress on the brink of overwhelming her. This could have been written and directed for a French movie. The delivery of Christoph Waltz is amazing. I don't know how fluent he is in French in real life but this performance would have been impossible without a good understanding of the structure of the language.

Come on, for Europeans living mixed beside each other, it isn't such a serious achievement to speak neighbors languages which are world famous and generally are of one or maximally two language groups. But sure he has a high IQ and he is talanted. I would wonder if he could speak Turkish or Swedish as well.

It's strudel, basically ( milhojas en español o millefeuilles en français don't know the name in english ) stuffed with apple cream. I live in Uruguay and there is a bakery here who has these. Sure you can find them where you live, look for a german bakery.

Strudel is basically a variation on a Danish pastry, with stewed, sliced apples rolled up on the inside. Fun fact, the pastry was often made with pork fat, and given this was a difficult economic time in Western Europe, it was likely that during the end of WW2, this would have been the case. This is interesting because he specifically orders the strudel, and this for me adds to the likelihood that he know who shoshana was.

Has a French speaker(from Canada 🇨🇦) I'm impressed by the French level of cristoph waltz. Is accent is very clean, there is a bit of German accent but it just sounds nice and is vocabulary is also very good in this movie. In fact in this movie, he looks more polite and formal than most people.

@@obirbilkentli7187 Attendez and attends are imperative tense for vous and tu respectively. If you use tu for the person you talking to, you say "Attends", if you use vous, then it is "Attendez". So if someone talks to you and say to you "Attendez", then you should know he is being formal, you guys are NOT friends (yet). If the person is your friend, he would say "Attends".

He's great, but there's a limited use for his skills in Hollywood. His English is great but the accent is there, and how many movies can utilize his French and German? So far I think only Tarantino was able to fully tap into his potential.

You can clearly see in this scene the difference between a native French speaker and a highly educated, formal, school taught French. I barely understood 5 words that came from Shosanna during those long sentences, no problem whatsoever from Landa.

Theodor Dinu well the actor speaks that way in every language he speaks : in a slow articulate way !! even french people can do that !! now , he is an actor , so he learns the lines and has to think about them unlike the french who (just) speaks her mind . I speak 5 languages so I know that feeling , just calm down !!

3edgy 5me It might be true for non - native speaker of any language tho... As a non - native English speaker i can understand news on TV and radiobrodcast almost perfectly, but it could be hard for me to understand a random person talking to me on the street. I live in Melbourne😂

I'm thinking about that scene in the First Avenger where Tommy Lee Jones is eating a steak, and looks and sounds disgusting. But here, you can even hear them chewing food, and yet it looks and sounds delicious. Just a little detail, but shows how Tarantino knows his shit.

It's intimidating how a person is perfectly capable to speak at least 4 differents languages almost as a native speaker. Is this man human ? I barely just speak, read and write 3 idioms, not-so complete vocabulary, and it took me more than 30 years

Puiz-je vous appeler Emmanuel… La charade. Landa knows about everything… from her true identity, to her greatest fears, her trauma, distrust of neighbors, to her very intimacy with Marcel… “is he any good…”. This is the very nature of what drives Landa. To exert power… to relish in torturing those he interrogates. The embodiment of ego central to the mindset and conceptualization of a “master race”. It wonderfully ensnares the audience in the verbal undertone and upfront visuals (lit cigarette thrust into a decent French imposter of a German pastry - put out and wasted - not so bad, but not as good as the real thing) used in the fantastic scene. One of my personal favorites from Tarantino.

I made few "tiny"mistakes in this video... 0:50 ; and 4:06 " un bon métier pour lui" I should remove and replace it, but if I do so, this would be a really bad move for this channel. ( About 226 000 views for this video, the whole channel, about 600 000 ! ) I have to provide my own videos as well, music and movie scenes are good materials, but this is not enough. Au fait... Tu as raison, une transcription serait très utile mais je manque un peu de temps (et surtout d'argent) pour me le permettre maintenant... ça ne veut pas dire que je ne le ferai pas, mais j'ai besoin de temps et d'argent pour pouvoir le faire. can someone explain why, in 0:53, "comment se fait-il que vous et le jeune soldat et vous ayez ..." why there is vous et le jeune soldat et vous? Doesn't that make " you and the young soldier and you"? i'm guessing the first "vous" is part of the "comment ... " part but i can't seem to find an explanation online.

I'm French and I've got to admit that I've never really realised how hard French must be. Because English is super easy to learn but I guess French isn't, right?

Salut Sarah. C'est en réalisant cette chaîne que je me rends compte que j'ai plus souvent besoin de vérifier l'orthographe et la conjugaison pour les sous-titres français que pour les sous-titres anglais. Je pense que les personnes qui veulent apprendre le français ne doivent pas chercher à maîtriser à la perfection l'orthographe exacte des mots ( une façon de justifier les petites erreurs que j'ai commises 😊 ) mais en comprendre le sens.

Learn French with a French Dude je suis tout à fait d'accord! Tout d'abord je trouve votre initiative absolument géniale et si j'étais une étrangère qui cherchait à apprendre le français, j'aurais été ravie de pouvoir tomber sur votre chaîne. Très franchement, même nous les français nous faisons des fautes à l'écrit donc à vrai dire, pas la peine de vous en inquiétez plus que ça. De plus, cette manière d'apprendre le français est plus ludique et je pense que ce qui compte le plus c'est entendre les mots, la prononciation car ceux qui apprennent le français ont certainement des cours où on leur apprend à écrire mais pas forcément à bien prononcer 😉 Bref tout ça pour dire que ce que vous faites est génial et continuez! Tous mes voeux de réussite dans ce que vous entreprenez

Salut Sarah. Tu penses comme moi. Je pense que ce type de vidéo était un chaînon manquant dans la liste des vidéos pour apprendre le français sur KZfaq... ( peut-être parce que c'est du " travail bénévole " ) On va dire que c'est aussi pour moi une façon de me rendre ( ou juste sentir ) utile. J'ai l'intention de faire d'autre types de vidéos, mais je ne suis pas tout à fait prêt ... Le trac ? Non, la peur de l'échec cuisant et humiliant ! Sinon, tu peux me tutoyer. Encore merci pour tes messages, je te souhaite tout ce qu'on peut espérer de mieux. 👍👍👍👍👍

Learn French with a French Dude Ne t'arrête surtout pas! On rencontre des échecs dans la vie ce n'est pas un secret mais c'est grâce à eux qu'on se relève, qu'on apprend et que l'on fait mieux. Il ne faut donc jamais en avoir peur. Lance toi! Vas y fais des vidéos! Tu as des miliers de personnes qui te remercieront, à qui tu auras rendu un immense service. Même si les "likes" ne sont pas là ça ne veut pas dire que les gens n'aiment pas. Regardes juste les commentaires de tes vidéos, j'en ai lu pas mal et les gens sont heureux d'être tombés sur tes vidéos. Alors continue, ne t'arrête pas et sache que ce que tu fais est génialissime 👍

Hi, Declan. Veuilliez m'excusez is something like "Please forgive me". "c'est" instead of "il est"... hard to explain in few word. If you would say "that's" or "it's" in English, you probably have to translate by "c'est" in French.

I think this would be better if we could read the subtitles in French while listening in English. Or that would work better for learning to write French. I guess learning to speak it would be the opposite.
