Have you ever regretted not flying? I once got overconfident and it cost me a podium...

Thank you for sharing the lows as well as the highs of your flying experiences .The closest I have ever come to having a life changing accident was when I was flying whilst too tired. I made a series of stupid decisions that were all avoidable had a been thinking straight. I got away with it that time with only a sprained wrist. Looking back I shudder at how stupid I was and am thankful that I did not end up with a broken back or worse

I attent once the gin wide open at Montclar in Frane. I rushed to this small comp, was overworked, did not sleep well but wanted to improve from the last comp at any price🙈 Need to learn it from the hard side. 1 Task boomed out, then stressed the next 2task with near same result. I did not feel well so a took a day off due my result was than ruined anyway...the last two days, recreated, flying just for the sake of fun and le voila....I flew both times under the top 20...leasons learnt: do not stress to comps or flying in general, go recreated and well hydrated.Exercise flying in sequence intense, not necessary long. When your head says " I must " but my body say " no ", than give a shit on your head and follow your soul and body...mostly they are right🥳🤩🤩 and when you have landed....do something nice like go for a swim, ice cream eating, cool beer, chill out with good friends, a ride with the bike...just not getting into why "I quite, did not bite" thinking ...thats negativ....🤭

Thanks for a good video. :) That's so annoying. When you have small lift. But decide to go for another, and it don't work. 😅 know the feeling. Good decision. To not fly when you were tired. That's some good airmanship 👍 I myself have a tendency of not always listening to my body when I am tired. And I need to work on that. Thanks for sharing 👍 Safe flights 🪂🪂

Thanks for sharing your experience! Yes, I think we all have to work on listening to our bodies when our brains keep saying"Fly!" :) Safe flights!

U made the right call not to fly. I had a simular situation this summer on the Emberger Alm. We had three good days in a row. I had two really nice flights the first two days. One flat 100k+ and one FAI 100k+ triangle. But after the landing on the second day I could barely think straight. I did go up and fly the third day aswell but my performance was way off, so ig sometimes its better to let one day pass and relax to get back into shape. I`m also flying the leopard and I did notice that this also plays a role in how tired u get when flying 8h+. It`s just way more demanding and since we wanna take advantage of the performance. We fly accererated a lot wich essentially means that we can never really let our guard down. Were always hyperfocused and that for hours at a time. Think about it this way. Would you drive a car for 8 hours straight. I dont think I would. Yet we fly for that long at a time, so it´s no wonder that we can´t handle this for days on end. Happy landings, Greetings from Austria

That’s a great comparison: driving. It’s good to hear I’m not the only one who’s had a similar experience. The times I’ve been to Brazil for XC, you usually get the day off after flying far, so this experience in Spain was pretty intense and I don’t I’ll ever do it again!

Well it is good that that happens from time to time "brings you back to earth a bit :)) " Great video as usual. Yes recently went to the Italian Alps near the Matterhorn to look for a paramotor takeoff... found one that was very complicated, but weather conditions were delicate and changing and my mind was not there.... needless to say I did not attempt a takeoff. Sometimes it is very wise not to fly... It is actually I think a healthy practice :)

Hi, Sounds like a good call to not fly as you were too tired as you said. I went to Slovenia last 3 weeks and flew a week with the school. I did stop several flights just cause i was becoming too tired and overwhelmed by the thermal activity. I think i made a good call every time, As i did not exceed my limit. It does however confront me again with the fact that i need to work on my stamina with boring other sports to enjoy longer and better flights😉😂
