Today we open up our brand new InMotion V8S Electric Unicycle and attempt to figure out exactly how to ride this thing. Can I learn the skills needed to ride this EUC? Will it instead just go back in the box and sold off to someone else? Tune in to find out what the experience is like!

Good job man ! I'm 60 years old and just started in January. I learned a bit in my Kitchen riding from counter to counter. My first day out for real learning was on dormant grass where I quickly formed trails. I figured the grass would be softer for the fall at my age. After about 10 sessions on my "trails" I took it to the streets. My advice is to practice the start mounts and go and stop dismounts over and over rather than just riding. Have fun! I agree, it's very similar to skiing.

that's awesome dude, I love it. And I agree the starting/stopping is probably the most important skill to start. I'm pretty confident with it at this time, but I can still mess up, especially if I'm trying to get started up a hill.

As a Pint owner who just received their EUC (MTEN4) in the mail yesterday, I can really appreciate your video. Sadly I'm currently injured, so the learning will have to wait. But for the cost between a Pint and PintX, I'm really stoked to see what I've got. What drove me away from FM is their proprietary battery setup combined with their lack of local service departments. I'm waiting for what comes after the GT. I'm waiting on suspension, and preferences for right to repair. What kind of company does not allow the consumer to replace the consumables on the purchased products, and not have a service department that does it?

Great video! I also started riding in my basement the first week going from one end to the next before venturing out to the empty lots, parks, and around the hood. I'm still new to the EUC and have been riding for about two weeks. Anyone who is a senior like me, wear a helmet and wrist guards at the least, and be prepared to fall! You can do this and you will be rewarded!

Awsome. You will be surprised what the euc's are capable of. Im still surprised(v11). Practice practice practice. Soon it will be intuitive. If your curious your euc rides will be more of an adventure. You can get more range, more battery, more speed and more capabilities for the money with the eucs. One suggestion. As you gain confidence you'll start to push its limits. You'll see its just as maneuverable as the the onewheel. Learn the limits of your wheel. The beeps. The pushback. Makes riding so much more fun.

thanks man, the EUC is definitely a great exploring device. And I'm definitely at the point where I'm constantly riding "near the limit" of the V8S. I generally cruise around at 19-20mph and have a lot of tilt back and beeps. But it's just so comfortable and confidence inspiring. 300 miles in it's certainly not as agile as the onewheel yet, and it's hard to imagine it getting there, but it's rare for that to cause an issue. I do scrape my pedals quite a bit on this thing when I'm trying to maneuver too hard.

@@JohnEFly I rode an XR today. First experience. I now understand the appeal. Your right though, it's eaier to learn and it is more agile than the EUC. First 10 minutes of riding and I could just feel the agility potential. I took a 35 mile ride on my EUC. Explored 3 subdivisions. Rode a mild bike trail. Rode a greenway path. Stopped by DG for a drink. Went down a flight a stairs. First 5 steps. OMG.....Adventure

Enjoyed the video, fwd it to new riders as it's easy to follow. I'm 50, been riding two months ... started on an mten, then a v8f and now a KS S18. Almost 1k miles between the three wheels and loving every minute of it. Summary: more, small training sessions are better than a large, single session. Safety gear is a must. Stretching before you ride ... don't pull a hamstring or a groin muscle or you'll hate that paperweight you just bought.

I finally got a euc and I was trying it out the other day. There was a small stone that i was rolling over and I must say that unlike those sidewalk expansion joints, everytime i went over it, I could almost feel its shape. It was like i was stepping on it with my feet and not the tyre. Very strange sensation.

I did find it fairly punishing to learn, but once it clicks, you are good. I’d rather ride it than anything else. It’s the best PEV, super portable, can integrate it into your life. And it’s fun to be out there, people love it. Did 3 miles each way to the post office earlier today on a V8S, had several groups comment on it. That’s still my errand wheel, though I have subsequently bought an EXN and don’t know what people think about that because I’m already gone before they could talk where I’d hear. Either way, this or Onewheel, it’s awesome being out there driving fewer miles. It’s my parking hack, if I’m going somewhere parking is expensive, I find somewhere it’s free and ride from the car to my destination. Pays for itself just in pure dollars pretty quickly between parking and fewer car miles driven, let alone in fun.

they do look a little intimidating; the one wheel has that low wide stability... would be interesting with this being on the larger wheel. Props! ill stick with 2 wheels, that range tho'
@JohnEFly
@JohnEFly 2 жыл бұрын
yeah the big advantage of the onewheel is low speed stability that comes from the wide wheel. You can stand still on it or go super slow, on the EUC you have to move a little faster before it feels really stable, like 4-5 mph.
@TheParentalRevolution
@TheParentalRevolution 2 жыл бұрын
The irony is that low one wheel is actually quite a bit more dangerous. Because the foot placement is so low they regularly get caught on curbs or simple uneven ground. But that little one wheel is super fun I will admit
@JohnEFly
@JohnEFly 2 жыл бұрын
@@TheParentalRevolution hmm, I don't find that the feet being low make the onewheel more dangerous. But I do agree the onewheel is quite a bit more dangerous. To me the danger comes from the fact that the feet are further away from the center of the wheel, plus the feet are higher relative to the center of the wheel. This means if you get off balance just a little you put a lot of torque down which the motor has to fight to keep balanced and it can't, and it's very easy to nose dive the onewheel. Versus with the EUC, the feet are low relative to the center of the wheel and they are in line with the center of the wheel, making it very difficult to put a lot of torque on the wheel that it has to fight to keep you balanced, so much harder to "nose dive" or cause a cut out. It stays upright WAY easier on the EUC. It's now been about 3 weeks that I've been riding the EUC, and I've yet to take a fall. I have almost 200 miles. I had quite a few falls on the onewheel by this point. I've hit some big divets and bumps in the road on the EUC, and that foot positioning really helped save me. I also cruise much faster on the EUC than the onewheel now. Now if you start going 2x as fast on the EUC versus the onewheel, maybe there is a counter to the safety factor...

I got my V12 Yesterday and also Coming From Riding a Pint. EUC are so much Harder for me, I practice inside my House and It's just Hard to Balance. Please Give me an Advice to Ride my EUC in the 1st day
@JohnEFly
@JohnEFly 7 ай бұрын
it's definitely much harder to learn to ride an EUC than a onewheel. So don't worry about it! The biggest thing for me is that you can stand stationary on a onewheel, but not an EUC. It makes it easier to learn what it's like to balance. The EUC you have to get over your fear of it moving to make it easier to balance, but it's hard to get moving when you can't balance. Just keep at it, and once it clicks it becomes second nature, and honestly I find it easier to ride around than a onewheel. Good luck!

@@jasonmelo9379 for range I get about 20-25 miles. But I weigh 240lbs. That's also averaging near the top end of what the V8S can do. If I rode closer to 11-12mph I'm sure it would go further. Only issue I really have had is that it is pretty easy to overpower. I tried playing with how hard I could break, and I definitely fell on my ass. Generally riding I have no fear of overpowering it though. Enjoy my dude!
