Learning to weave / weaving with a flying shuttle or fly shuttle

These are my video notes of what I learned about how to use a flying shuttle. The loom is a 60@ Leclerc Colonial V2. The yarn is Harrisville Shetland set to 10epi (on a 12 dent reed) with a 6 shaft double point twill threading.
Flying shuttles are great labour saving devices once you get the hang of it, and hopefully these notes will help you get there a bit faster.

I love the overhead beater - for everything except the flying shuttle. The arc is is all wrong and adds to the likelihood that the flying shuttle veers into the shed. Otherwise, the overhead just feels great. I have the flying shuttle attached to my underhand beater and swap the beater/fly shuttle out for my overhead hanging beater when I do other projects.

How do you like your swing beater...do you think you might like an overhead beater with the flying shuttle? The reason I ask is because I'm trying to figure out which one I would like to get.
