Cherub Rock Drum Tutorial - The Smashing Pumpkins

This drum lesson is for Cherub Rock by The Smashing Pumpkins. It's a classic song from their catalogue with some excellent drumming by Jimmy Chamberlin. The overall feel is nice and solid but shouldn't be too hard to get down, then it's just the fills and that fun snare roll right at the end to get down. Enjoy!

In the main riff part, Jimmy pedals 16ths with the hi hat and plays 16ths with the ride...he is pretty much known for keeping that hi hat strong

Yeah I can hear some left foot going on for sure, definitely sounds like 8ths though - 16ths would burn!

LearnSomeDrums watch him play it live. He plays 16ths on the hi hat foot along with this right hand. Almost every live performance of cherub rock he does it ... sorry not trying to be critical I’m just a huge SP nerd
