This week, I've had a drooping issue with a plant that had been fuss free since planting it in early March. It had been growing in my greenhouse in a little 2 gallon grow bag. Last Monday, I repotted it into a 16 gallon grow bag and decided to move it to my patio. In my state, we've been having sporadic storms (almost like tornado weather), when it's not raining, its been hot (high 80's) and humid. It rained all day Tuesday and Wednesday, but I didn't think anything about it because my plants growing outside in my 7 and 16 gallon bags have been unaffected by the storms. By Wednesday evening, I noticed it was drooping, and I moved it back to the greenhouse, worried that it was going to drown. Ever since then, it has been in the greenhouse and I noticed it now droops during the day and perks up at night. I've looked everywhere online for an answer, and every site says its underwatered, but I've been checking it with a moisture meter multiple times a day and my meter says the soil isn't even close to dry. I'm wondering if its doing the same thing your kale is doing to prevent water loss 🤔

I have a container garden and it is a tough chore to keep everything evenly watered on hot days because I still haven't mulched them all yet... I regret that. I'm growing some of my veggies in big wooden "flower boxes" and they seem to be the thirstiest plants in my garden- I must water them twice on hot days or they will dry out. I found giving a really good drench to smaller containers can be challenging because of runoff... so I've been bottom watering the lil' ones with a quick dip using a 5-gallon bucket.

Hi Bryce! Been more consistent this year...have had more time. 😊 1 tablespoon baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon dish soap, 1 gallon water, shake and spray affected leaves. Heavily infected leaves should be removed ASAP. Plant in full sun with proper spacing in between plants to allow air circulation. Hope this helps! Oh no! You can sprinkle diatomaceous earth on the ant hills and around your plant and also inspect your plants for aphids. Ants have a symbiotic relationship with aphids as they feed on their waste. Sometimes you’ll find ants if aphids are present. You can also dust the plants with diatomaceous earth, but avoid getting it into the flowers as they they get killed. Thank you for watching!

I live in a hot climate 110 degree plus days, (Qatar), and have a plumeria cutting that is doing pretty well. This morning the plant had perky leaves, but I just noticed that a lot of the leaves are drooping. It only has maybe a dozen leaves, it is planted in a one gallon black pot, and I watered it 4 days ago. I have about an inch of fine sand on top of the soil, to both keep moisture in, and to not absorb the heat from the sunlight as much as the dark soil does, however, I worry that I may choice of a black pot was a poor one, as it does get warm. I brought the plumeria indoors to get it out of the heat for now. I use a soil meter and it says it is still moist, not super wet, middle of the meter. It has been around 100 degrees and above for weeks now, but this is the first time I have seem the leaves droop. Am I over thinking this?
@LearnToGrow1
@LearnToGrow1 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Plumeria roots do not like wet environment. Make sure the soil is well-draning, Plumeria needs about 40 to 50% humidity. If it's too dry it can cause the leaves to lose more water and sometimes fall. Try putting a tray of water next to the pot to add humidity. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching! Misilla

I'm over here arguing with my girlfriend about our hibiscus plant we bout a week ago. We replanted it in a beautiful new pot. I DRILLED drain hole around the bottom and it took off. BIG GREEN AND BEAUTIFUL. The Pods already started opening up showing big beautiful Red Flowers. Yesterday was 2 Flowers which closed up when the sunset. When I got home this afternoon one of those Flowers had closed up and fell off on it'd own. Only opened for one Dat. Now either it didn't like what it saw when it opened for a full day or I did something wrong lol. Yet 6 other Pods opened and the Flowers weren't quite as Red big and BEAUTIFUL as those first 2 but they did open and blossom. What I did notice is that it was wilting and leaves a little droopy. I watered it very good at night but when I got home from work the soil was dry as hell. Now it is 100° outside here in Texas from around 1pm to 6pm or so. 90° outside of those ours. My girlfriend says I watered to much. Which is not possible since the Miracle-Gro soil was dry as a desert. Well maybe not that dry but pretty dry. Thanks for the vid though. I'll start watering it in the morning before work.

Hello! Our hibiscus was like that last year when we had a heat wave and I had to water it daily. I feed the soil with worm castings nutrient tea once every two weeks or so to support bloom growth . Those micro tomatoes that you showed at the end are very small. The tomatoes look like they are bigger than cherry tomatoes; but, that could be because they are on a tiny plant. How big are the tomatoes that these micro plants produce? Where I live in central WA, it can get in the 90s or higher during the summer. Even September can start out hot and then be freezing at the end of the month. The front side of my home faces east and is the only spot where I can grow much of anything. The back side is in shade most of the time. There is a very narrow window where the flower bed out back can pick up any sun and that is a very small part of the flower bed at that.
@LearnToGrow1
@LearnToGrow1 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Donna, the micro dwarf are between 6 to 12 inches tall so the tomatoes look big compared to the plants. The trees here are getting taller every year so we don't get the all day sun anymore and I just have to plant in areas like you where there is sunlight throughout the day. Have a great week and thank you!

The other one has perky leaves up at the top but lost about 8 older leaves, with 3 more drooping, at the base of the woody trunk. The lost leaves didn't change color by the way. how often you water blueberries
@LearnToGrow1
@LearnToGrow1 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Robert, I water them once every two weeks, they are planted in the ground and mulched with wood chips. They also get afternoon shade so the soil doesn’t dry out quickly. Sometimes you may have to water often depending on your climate and planting location. If planted in pots water daily when it hot out. Thanks for watching!

@@LearnToGrow1 I've planted her in a mix of store brought compost and posting mix, she's been part shaded mostly. For the last 2 days she's been under an umbrella because it is hot hot hot here. She's been slowly drooping the last 7-15 days, half of it had died off so I trimmed it away but now the other half is doing the same. I watered her enough to make sure that I could see any changes but no improvement.

I've never grown comfrey, but it does best in full sun. In rich, moist and neutral soil, with ph 6-7.
