Welcome to Mister Torgue's arena of Badasserrrryyyy!!!!! Are you not entertained?!?!?! Get ready to enter the arena with your team to battle your way against other combatants. Fight your way to power up, gear up and level up to show how much of a badass you are! Don't be a Skag Snack and show ‘em you appetite for destruction!
We’ll take a look at Borderlands: Mr. Torgue's Arena of Badassery. I'll look at the some of the components, player actions and the difference in modes. Of course, I’ll share my thoughts and look forward to your comments on whether you may or may not back this on Kickstarter.

I got this game for Christmas. Only got to run 1 scenario but it's a ton of fun. Can't wait to really get into it. It's my first tabletop game but I'm a Borderlands fan so that crossover made it easy to understand and hooked me. Great Video!

Thanks for the explanation... on the Kickstarter Page they describet that the defence die drops by 1 category... meaning Green->yellow->red->dead

Thanks for watching and for the question. In the prototype rules I had it would be replaced with a red not matter if you used green or yellow so they might of toned it down a little sense than;)

Hardest part of this game for me is the fact that you HAVE to have all 4 characters on the board. if I could learn with just 1 character, I'd find it a LOT easier to get into.

Thank you for the video. I am however confused by some of the examples because they seem to contradict the rules on the KS page: - When Salvador made his first shot, you rolled a 4 and triggered Radiation... but the rules state that you should then have rolled a yellow die to damage the other Psycho in the same zone, instead of removing him immediately. - When the Iron Bear made its melee attack, it was Deadly. Shouldn't the attack have dealt two damage and killed the Goliath immediately? Am I missing something here?

Thanks for watching and for the questions. For the first question you are correct I should have rolled a yellow die to determine if any other models in that space were eliminated. For the second question you are correct as well. With this one during filming I was not expecting to roll a crit and could not remember the rules of it at the time so just went with a lesser effect, but yes with Iron Bear having Deadly attacks he should of eliminated the Goliath with that attack. Thanks for the video . Great job. The up keep looks like a lot . Way to many abilities and effects going on . Activating all the monster looks to take a lot of time ..

I disagree, it seems relatively streamlined to me, just some keywords to reference, but after a couple plays you will remember them.

Lots of effects for sure. But countered by a simple and fast dice system.

Thanks for watching and for posting. My answer is subjective, but I also feel after a couple of play throughs things move very fast and I picked up on the abilities quickly. This game is no more complicated than Zombicide if you have played that one IMO.

Was looking forward to his game but seems like a disconnect.... some good ideas but skeptical on others. I'm a fan of the game and I feel some mechanics are missing. Example some boardgames use some type of cool down track which this game has for abilities. Also I know the skill tree is still in progress as well as the whole game but in the video game each character has about 3 branching skill tree paths. Hopefully the final game gets that freedom. And I would like to see the character get stronger as well as the enemies... and let not forget we need bazillion cards to represent the bazillion guns.

I think there will be some of what you are talking about in this game but maybe not the depth you want as I think they are trying to have a faster experience with a more beer and pretzel style where you are going to get tons of guns, roll some dice, kill loads of bad guys and buy new stuff between missions.

I'm a huge Borderlands fan and tend to agree that, based on the demo, it doesn't feel like the game. Even Health pools and Shield pools seem to be missing and replaced by a mechanic where the enemies either flat-out miss or you get hit and lose a die that is rather crucial for you to be able to do much in the next round. That's not how the video game works at all. You're pretty much always getting hit, you're just trying to fight through status effects and not get down to 0 Shield & 0 HP. In the process, losing Health or Shield doesn't limit your firepower or movement. In fact, between skill trees and gear it's usually the opposite and you get stronger as you take more damage. Very odd design choices IMO

@@robertlocock5636 there actually is a fight for your life mechanic and shield mechanic in the game. It's in the wip rule book they have, if you guys check it out.

When you are able to loot and get new weapons, in which game phase? Sorry if I missed that.

any time you move into or through a space that has loot tokens you can take one of them or spend an action to take all the tokens in your space. You can spend your tokens during your turn to carry out the action of the token for example a weapon token will let you draw a new weapon card. Thanks for watching and for the question;)

I have a question about this game. I know you can back this project up by donating (i dont know exact term) But when this game actually comes out in November, can you still buy it then or not?

Thanks for watching and for the question. So this one will depend on the company some kickstarter campaigns are exclusive and will not go to retail. I do believe this one will have a retail release but it might be a more basic version of the game without the kickstarter exclusives and possibly some of the added components. I hope this helps;)

You will always need to play with four characters at least currently, But you can play it solo as long as you don't mind running that number of characters. I did it in the play through video I did and no problem. Hope this helps;) Thanks for watching and for the question.

I agree... I wanted to like this game so much, but it seems it's more geared towards people new to the hobby, which is not a bad thing perse, but I like my games more reliant on tactics instead of luck... Or am I looking at this incorrectly?
