Yup I had a loose dog run up on my GSD! Really irks me because the run-up got my dog very aggressive!

My 3 year old German Shepard has a problem with jumping on me when I take her on walks. I know this is an attempt to show her dominance. Today I tried to redirect her on the leash and she started snapping at the leash and me… She doesn’t act violent when we are in my house and she was socialized as a puppy. She’s definitely the blend of the frustrated and fearful leash reactive. She was diagnosed with anxiety. She does good at parks but plays really rough. I’ve established my dominance many times by having patience and watching your videos lol but she is still giving me problems. Any tips?

Love your videos! Do you have any tips for teaching a stubborn dog how to sit? He didn’t seem to have any interest in toys or treats.

My dog was like that. Pushing down on his butt worked sometime, but usually not. What ended up working for me was to put a leash on him, with the leash hanging loosely toward the ground, then after saying “sit” I step on the leash so that it signals to him to go down, then he sits. Be careful, I don’t mean that I am actually pulling him down; stepping on the leash is just a signal that reminds him what I want him to do. So in the end, it wasn’t that my dog was being stubborn, it was more of an issue of communication. Once we understood each other, everything worked out fine.

Susan Garrett has a video of how to teach sit 10 different ways. Try doing some training before getting their meal. Hope that helps.

I take it that we can apply this to Rottweiler too? And I wanted your help on kibble/ treats. Ones I'm using are too dry (3 months Rottweiler) so I switching to use chicken sausage, but it is messy.

Hey, I don't know if this is helpful. I just cook/bake chicken breast and cut it in small cubes or just cheese.

I have a fearful and anxious GSD we have tried very hard, and to be honest we were very ignorant to the amount of work it took to take care of her emotionally. We live in an apartment complex (Which we are very aware is not ideal for our GSD as she can not run and play quite as much) she has barrier aggression. We love her very much and do not want something bad to end up happening to her due to her behavior. She is perfect with commands at the house and in other areas of life, but when playing with other dogs she has snapped when they communicate with usual dog behavior (sniffing, licking, bowing, etc.) We feel we have tried everything, such as professional training, meet ups with friend's dogs, treats, exercise, etc. Do you have any advice?

Michael Shikashio has a great video of two dogs in the same household in Australia - it's about 5 videos long. Susan Garrett any of her videos. Joel Beckman's Rottweiler named Creed video is the foundation video for loose leash walking and reactivity. You're not going anywhere until they're on your page. He also has little dog videos if you don't have a 120lb Rottweiler. Pain messes with their brains. Hope that helps.
